My C4S Died During Morning Commute

C4S dying, again
There were some good weeks post cam position sensor replacement, but the car wouldn't start today after being parking in a shopping center for a couple hours. It was towed to the dealership. I don't want it anymore. It's unreliable and dangerous, and I want my money back.

This is a major issue and an extremely dangerous one at that.
Between the random stalling, dying and not restarting, it is fair to say that we have a problem and no solution in sight.
Now the fun begins.. Sadly, but fortunately for you, there are some members that can guide you through the painful process.

Hey guys, I'm about to take my car on 1200 km drive, so this thread did scare me a bit.
So far 9500 km on my 2014 C4S, and no engine issues.
Has anyone who drives his car in Europe has this issue yet?
As far as I can see in the thread, it seems to only happen to US customers.
Before my 911, I drove a 2010 Z4 which in the US had tons of issues with the fuel sensors, but in Europe hardly any.
Maybe the US fuel has something to do with it all?

Difficult to determine if the problem is something that will eventually require maintenance action. After two no start occurrences a couple of months ago, my C2S 7mt has been flawless since.
If indeed the problem lies with the cam position sensor, it still amazes me that the fault doesn't throw a code. (I believe even the cupholder will throw a code if it doesn't deploy correctly).

Sorry to hear about your issue. I've had experience using the lemon law (with a Honda) and I found it quite easy and effective. Fundamentally you need to document the issue and have them try to fix it. Look in the warranty manual and see how many times they get to try to fix it. Then take it to arbitration IAW the manual's instruction. If you win, they have to buy your car back. If you loose, you can take it to court. If you take it to court first and win, the company can appeal which could take a lifetime.

I'm personally waiting for an accident to occur especially if you have documented video in the past. You can sue Porsche big time and that will bring more attention to the issues. Hopefully, no one gets hurt, but if someone does or dies, then Porsche has got a major lawsuit. I'd say keep recording. I'm getting a dashcam.

You expect better from a 100k+ car.

That's what I'm saying. You're kinda stuck I hate to say. I would record and document every issue you've found with the vehicle and the stalls. And, notify with return receipt Porsche NA and document that. Seriously. Get a dashcam. Record it with your iphone when it occurs. Cause, if an accident does occur or someone gets hurt, you can say you documented it and you let Porsche NA and your dealership know about it, but no one wanted to do anything about it.....Then, I see a big lawsuit on them.

I've recorded a half dozen videos and it still doesn't matter. Porsche won't look at my car unless the problem exist for the tech to see in person. ITS A INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. IF I COULD REPRODUCE IT ON THE SPOT I WOULD. THATS WHY I MADE A VIDEO. Porsche is dropping the ball on this one. This is a joke.
