Clutch Pedal Vibration

Clutch Pedal Vibration
I have a base 991 with just over 1,000 miles on it. When upshifting at 3,500 rpm or more, the clutch pedal vibrates at the bottom of its travel...it feels like a phone ring feels when you have it on vibrate. It's an anoying feel that I did not have in my previous 997 and 996. I thought it was the throw out bearing starting to fail but there is no vibration in neutral or at any rpm below 3,500. I had the dealer check it on Tuesday and he agreed that the pedal vibrates. The service manager took another 991 out and said it too vibrates at the bottom of its travel at higher rpm's, so he ruled it as normal operation. Does anyone have a 991 MT that doesn't experience clutch pedal vibration at 3,500 rpm+?

Unfortunately I had that one with my 2007 C2S, but it wasn't as bad as I'm reading yours is. My dealer removed the clutch and replaced the clutch, throughout bearing and pressure plate. They said the fingers were worn. Mine had 25,000 at that point. I'd get a second opinion.

is it in most of the gears (i.e. 1st thru 3rd)?
Keep pushing them on the "normal operation" thing if you think it isnt. I pushed for a while on this squeak i heard on start up. Told over and over it was normal or a characteristic of the car whilst I repeatedly claimed it wasnt. Finally got the lead tech to dig into it one piece at the time.. turns out it was the high pressure fuel pump. Once it was replaced, problem solved.

A close friend of mine complained extensively about this with his 07 997 C4S in 2007 . At the time he even had several others test drive his car (he lives 3K miles away from me) and they felt it was not noticeable . He even doubted himself as to why it bothered him this much.
We discussed it over the course of several e mails to the point where he wanted to sell his new car that he had dreamt of for years .
He searched the forums and saw others who posted much like your post .
I wondered if it was simply the manner in which he released the pedal .
Finally after about a month and 1300 miles on his car I reached out to the shop foreman of my area dealership to give an informal opinion and he spoke with him on the phone as a courtesy . He expressed that most do not notice it or complain but as your service advisor stated it was 'normal'. He expressed that there are two models which never vibrate .. the Gt3 and Turbo . I do not recall the reason why those two cars dont as it was 6 years ago. My firend test drove a Turbo (manual) and there was no vibration . He traded in his C4S and bought the Turbo.
I happen to dislike the stock turbo clutch . I have never felt a vibration in any of my Porsches including my 07 Turbo and 13 Boxster S . I do empathize with your frustration .

Yoley:
You might call Cliff Blackshear (head tech at Plano Porsche), tell him about your problem, remind him of how he fixed my 2007 and ask him how to fix it. I can't remember, but he told me there was a wrong part in it, causing issues with the clutch fingers. He also told me that the GT3 and Turbo's never did it.

No vibration here at all.
I would take it in and let them fix it.
Make sure you go for a drive with the Head Service tech and have him acknowledge the problem, and don't take their "it's operating as designed" nonsense that they will undoubtedly spew.
Please keep us posted.

I have 2013 MT 3.4l 991 and was originally concerned about the type of clutch vibration at higher rpm shifts that I think you are describing. Porsche tech advisor found nothing wrong.
Lately, I have been pressing the clutch pedal really hard to the floor during shifts and the vibration seems gone. Try pushing the clutch down, not just to the end of its stroke, but very firmly to the floor. It seems to work for me.
