Do you have a roof rattle when its fully open?

I have a roof that makes a plasticy clunk when fully open and going over rough pavement. There were noises in the roof liner before which my dealer fixed. This however seems like a design flaw. The clunk comes from the stops where the roof rails end - nothing to do with the roof liner. So if I close the roof one inch, the clunks stop - unless you hit a crater.

I presumed since this seems to be a bad design that others would be affected and some bulletin would come out.

Has it? My dealer says no body else is complaining of this...?

Does anyone have this issue?

Thanks,
DRP

Nope, no problems with clunking. Only issue I had is the outer rubber seal which had to be replaced due to it not being seated properly.

My sunroof rattles (not a clunk) at the right rear corner when fully open and going over bumps, and it also stops when retracted just a bit. Not sure I want to take it in at this point.

2014 with exactly this same problem. Dealer claims could not replicate. So time to go back and go out with the tech.

Mine used to do this... and I figured out that if I opened it and 'thumped' the back of the open roof with my palm of my hand, I could replicate the sound the roof made on the road.

Once I showed them this... they fixed it.

No more noise.

I love the sunroof in the 991.

I noticed my 2012 991 has the same problem. I just noticed it, and plan to have the dealer look at it when I take it in for the next service.

I' curious. Do you know what they did to fix the sound?
