911 vs. S vs. 4 vs. 4S

In the wet or snow the 4 will wildly outperform the 2.
I have a 4S, and I was recently at the Porsche Roadshow where they demo'd them side by side on a special wet tarp that simulated snow. The 2 spun instantly, the 4 went straight.
They also ran them without traction control on, again the 2 spun instantly, the 4 did spin under full throttle but took longer to break loose and spun in a much wider slower arc giving you more time to correct.
Porsche's demo and words, not mine.
I use my 4S as a DD and in north Jersey we get all types of weather, I spent the extra money to be safer in inclement weather and after seeing the demo I could not have been happier that I did.
Both are great cars and both can be driven safely, just understand what you are buying and drive smartly given the current conditions.

If cost not a factor then I would get 4S.
With cost considered I would take an S over a base 4.
I went with the C2S.
They didn't have the 4 wheel drive version at that time but I don't think I could have justified another $10,000 for the 4S anyway. I live in the south and try not to drive when it rains.
There is enough of a power difference between an S and base to justify the cost difference IMHO and 400 HP just sounds better than 350 when people ask.
The Turbo would be nice but the cost difference is much greater and is not available in my preferred manual transmission.

Tech Specs C2S vs. 4S
When comparing the 2 cars on Porsche's website, the below specs were identified. It has the 0-60mph time of the 4S 1/10th of a sec less than the 2S; 3.8s with PDK and Sport Plus. I thought that 3.8s time was reserved for the X51 package. Anybody else out there with other information? Would like it to be true as I chose the 4S for better track performance.

If I lived in a warm weather climate with good weather, I'd have opted for a C2S. As it is, I need to be able to get over an 11,000 foot pass all year long in Colorado: C4S was the answer.
I ordered the PSE; it's a matter of personal preference.
