Looking for the right DD exotic

Really ! You are not trolling, nor are you dissing the 991 ! And the R8 in general, and your R8 in particular is a great and goodlooking sportscar, so I wouldn't know why it would be inappropriate to post your pics. Love the black with the dark wheels on yours Alan !

If there is no trolling or dissing involved I welcome members telling stories and sharing pics of their sportscars, C7, R8, GTR, M3 or whatever. Most of us are petrolheads I presume, and not eyepatched Porsche fanboys.

Hmmm suzy's thread got me thinking of adding an RS5 coupe to my list....hmmmmmmmmmmm. I think my dealer has one...or maybe its an RS7.
I think I have to go take a look this weekend.

Eight pages and a year away from purchase. This is too funny. However, it has some good content involved regarding differences in manufacturers cars and options. Each car has a different feel to it. You have to drive it to know if it is the car for you.

I was just kidding....
A thread like this where we compare several cars with a 991, has for me more value than a thread about 1 single model, that is different from the model where the forum section is based on.

It's a nice car, but not a real comparison to a 991 or R8. But it is a nice DD and has plenty of power (450hp)... And a great soundtrack (optional sportsexhaust is a no-brainer. only $1000)

Plus the build quality, especially the interior materials of porsche is just worlds ahead audi. It is almost like sitting in a bentley with all the soft leather and aluminum. And you get a little bit of that sport fun, ferrari has if you configure it with a nice colored interior with colored gauges and seat belts too.
So far I think the winner may be the c2s/c4s if I can't find the magical used turbo/turbo s. The only thing I am wondering is if the c4s is slower or performs worse than the c2s because of the extra weight. Additionally I like the clear glass tail lights and with the c4s center light bar if I get clear tailights the center bar won't be clear and it will look weird. Also if I get the carrera I can have porsche paint the carrera S wheels in bronze like the CGT to contrast with the red, rather than ordering a set from HRE to do the same thing.
But now you keep talking about the turbo and it's making me just want to say f*** it and get it instead lol. But I should be financially responsible and shy away from that one unless its used.

I disagree on build quality and materials... Audi is on par, if not ahead of Porsche. Maybe not with the A4/A5 series, because these are basically introduced in 2007 and facelifted in 2011, but the A6, A7, A8 and even the A3 interior quality is at least as good as Porsche's Panamera and IMO even better. My A6, but also my current SQ5 have full leather dashboards and leather quality is the same as the full leather interiors of Porsche. (And I shoukd know it... I'm an interior-fetisjist! LOL!)
Porsche however feels somewhat more luxurious, because of its design and color schemes. Audi has a very minimalistic (some say boring) design, which I quite like. Audi interiors are the benchmark in their segment. Better than BMW and Mercedes, although they are keeping up well with the new models.
Regarding C2S vs. C4S... No difference.. The C4S has more traction, so in moist conditions it even perfoms better. Motortrend was faster around laguna seca with the C4S than with the C2S

Idk Suzy. When I sit in even a boxster and compare it to the r8, it just seems boring and unrefined. The aluminum in the Porsche looks real for example while the aluminum in the Audi still looks fake to me even though it isn't. Plus I am a sucker for decorative ditching and Audi doesn't really have any of that. I haven't felt the fine nappa so I can't comment on that. But I don't think their regular nappa can compare.

The Turbo (or GT3) are better track cars than the R8, but my driving is on the street and the 3.2 sec 0-60 of the Plus is more than I need. But, if you get an R8 you have to be prepared for attention. Took me awhile to get used to being followed, video'd and photographed. And even now, years after the car hit the U.S, it still happens frequently.
