Outside Temp

How long does it typically take for the outside temp sensor to be accurate. In the garage it reads warm, but even after 10 mins it barely changes in the cold.

Just make sure it hasn't got gunk or a bug stuck to it and insulating it. I think its located on the from near the radiators.

It looked okay, I wiped it down with rubbing alcohol, its possible I got some wax on it. I suppose I could test it with some ice.

If you've cleaned it, I'm afraid its one for your dealer to sort out. Your post reminds me to clean the crud off mine.

I did a test with an ice pack, I was able to get it down to 35 degrees. Makes me think the sensor is probably working but needs to be calibrated. It would also explain why the climate settings could be a little off if its based on outside temp.

I'm not sure if the sensors can be calibrated. Hmmm interesting issue.

I got that car back today, they confirmed the sensor was reading 10 degrees off. They ended up recalibrating it and reprogramming the instrument cluster. An interesting change I noticed was in the all wheel display.

That's a sweet feature. Did you not have it before the dealer reprogrammed the cluster?

I had the feature, but before it said allwheel, now it says torque split.

Not sure how to check the instrument cluster software version, its different from the PCM version. Im thinking its the 2014 model software.
