Roads built for the 911 - post a pic

I often drive the 50 or so miles to Chattanooga from my home. Thankfully, I have a number of routes to choose from with only one being the highway. The others are scenic and quite beautiful. One in particular is a favorite and has a 4 mile stretch which is simply gorgeous and IMO an ideal road for the 911. Smooth tarmac, ups and downs, cambered left right bends, banked curves, practically zero traffic, it's got it all!

I'm sure you've all got stories of your ideal 911 road. Share your story and a picture or two.

Here's a pic I took the other day of the road I mentioned.

Great thread Haku!

My favorite road in my neck of the woods is California highway 9 ... Twisty with steep elevations and drops plus very smooth. The best stretch is between Saratoga springs and 35!!

Furkapass Switzerland! (tip for people that do European delivery)

Forget the Stelvio, this one is equally as beautiful to drive, has nicer scenery, is longer and most important.... Is less crowded

OK... It's not a 911 but you get the idea

Part 1

Part 2

EDIT: just came across this nice write-up from a journalist that drives the "perfect circle", where the Furkapass is part of, in a new 991 TTS.

It should be pure driving bliss if there's no traffic...In USA, such roads are definitely 1 ways not 2 way traffic.

Hahaha, it's also a bliss when there is some traffic (not too much though). After being in Southern California for 4 weeks and driving a lot there, I had to adapt again, when we came back
It really is a very big difference in terms of available space on the road, but one gets used to it pretty easy. The worst part are not the cars, but the cyclists. That's where the PSE does a good job

Oops, I thought the thread title was "Roads built for 911", not "the 911". So my joke isn't funny.

Drivers of motor vehicles do not own the roads We cyclists are entitled to ride on the roads too. It's not real hard to just slow down, look for a safe place to pass and them pass cyclists. Suzy, if you never learned how to ride you should give it a try. You should try it. You may like it. By the way, thundering past a bicycle rider with a PSE on is not only rude, but it is extremely dangerous. While many riders are experienced and are used to such abusive conduct, there are many novices out there who could be startled, fall and be severely injured. While driving a Porsche Carrera is a privilege, it does not confer right, title and lordship over public roads. Drive responsibly my friend.
