Do you find porsches beautiful?
I bought a 997 a fear years ago.
I love Porsche.
But I always have.
I think they have a bit of an underdog thing going on. They are cute+beautiful looking, but not overly aggressive and over the top. But always iconic and never have to try too hard.
To me, they are like the perfect-looking woman, a symbiotic fusion of sexy and cute, like miranda kerr. (https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...OgbLWWV1GK5wKw)
Classy and not overly flashy.
However, I've met many people that don't find them attractive.
But I'd find them to be one of the best looking cars out there. I do like Astons too, but not a fan of the interiors.
What are your thoughts? Of course we're all biased.

I have always love Carrera's/911's since I was a kid and didn't even know what they were called. (Panamera's, 924/44's and SUV's etc not so much....)
The 911, has always had rather simple but beautiful classic lines, (and I can make a thousand comparisons to a beautiful woman.. and is one of the few things that can get my attention as quickly as well!).
I'm an airplane guy as well, and to a certain extent the 911 shape reminds me of an aerodynamic airfoil shape , and in with airplanes there are classic designs as well that span 40 or 50 years as well.. Maybe that's why I've found a lot of pilots who love 911's..
There is a lot of technology, but there is an underlying design esthetic that is minimal and classic.. (Folks complain often that the 911 is a few years behind in the latest gadgets.. which to some extent can be true, but at the same time its part of the overall evolution not revolution that defines the 7 incarnations of the 911. There is a lot of philosophy that goes into each design..)
Each generation change is scrutinized criticized (the 991 is no exception) because the purist resist the change because they don't want to ruin it or have it turn into something else. Think of how other classic cars have been ruined during certain periods by demographics and marketing (Mustangs, Cameos, Corvettes) and others have a new body shape style that is the current fad, and is sure to change with the next model update.. I think the criticism that comes with the 911 community is reflective of something deeper and more visceral).
But I don't feel about them as an underdog or simply cute. Rather more as classic and timeless.. with more than enough performance for a mortal driver. Well lets just say more than I can use...
What I like most is that they aren't so common.. Yes there are affluent places where you see many more of them, but in general I see very few on a day to day basis.. So they seem to be much more special.. Compare that to a Merc or BMW which although always nice... would rarely get a 2nd look..
As for those who DONT like the looks.. all I can say is there are a lot of tastes and nothing can satisfy anyone. But I would ask anyone who volunteered they specifically didn't like the look (as opposed to those who are merely indifferent) of a 911 to tell me what do they think is attractive..? Bet they tend to think a wedge Prius or similar hideous shapes attractive. Or they just don't like what they know they can never have...
In general the 911 is the only shape of a car today that truly inspires me to drive it.. And most importantly I won't become bored with it in a couple of years.. (Hey, isn't that what you want from a wife?

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but I find the 911 (including the current 991) to be beautiful, classic and timeless. It's an evolving design that seems to be perfected even more with each iteration.

Great color combination! I have ordered one about the same. Though not with the red interior.
I have loved the look of Porsches since I bought my first Cayman back in 2006. I think that you first fall in love with the design of the cars when you have actually driven one. That is how it was for me.

That is a beautiful, hot 911.

I guess I meatn the topic of this thread to be 911's specifically. I dont really care for the looks of other porsches.
I like the 997 and 991's. Porsches from the 90s and 80's have more of a charm but I dont find them pretty.

Yeah, I know what you mean.. And were really sports cars of the era... nothing to compete (at least in a strait line) with 60's muscle cars.. They were two different animals.. The original 911 in the 1960's was very "European" by the era's standards..
The 930's in the 70's I think were the first Porsche I really paid attention to as a teenager in the 70's.. They definitely have a specific look. Sorta the targa era..
the 964's I don't know.. It depends on the angle I see them.. From some angles they look gorgeous.. but from behind the base non turbo's always make me think they look kinda funny and wimpy from directly behind.. Not my favorite..
The 993's to me looked better than the 964s from directly behind.. I like the 996's and 997s as they began to look much more refined.. And I think the 991 is an extension of the 991..
The thing I love about 991's (and some purists hate) is the interiors have become more refined. . As much as I can enjoy a classic 911.. the inside is a bit ancient and reminds me of driving a VW beetle in some ways (exaggerating) but I guess I like classic with modern..
Esthetically I'd say classic 911's (from 60's) or 997/991's are the prettiest.

I agree with the OP by the way.... Porsches are beautiful (well most of them).

No, that is a forum member here, she doesn't post much. I used to think 911s are ugly as sin and I have many friends who thinks the same way. I used to think 911 drivers are just trying to get attention by driving the ugliest car possible. lol It's not until I drove a 964 many years ago. I took my uncle's 911 out for two days and at the end of it, I didn't want to return the keys. I had an M3 then that didn't give me that type of excitement. I fell in love with the 911 ever since. Porsche to me are like babies, no matter how ugly it is, only the mother could appreciate it's beauty.

For a woman, yes it must be very difficult..
For a guy, no.. we usually only own two pairs of shoes.. the regular and the good ones, lol.. So it isn't often on our mind..

I have the utmost respect for the 911 but have never found them to be beautiful. I find the Aston Martin to be beautiful but I don't have a lot of respect for them as serious performance cars.
I'd call the 911, "Handsome".
