GT porsche article on 991 rwd vs 991 awd carerra

I just got the ipad version of GT Pure porsche and they compared carerra rwd vs carerra awd on the same public roads, no track work

The rwd 991 had Pasm, ptv and awd had std suspension and both with 3.4 engine guise

Interesting read and the bottom line is they preferred awd C4 over C2 for road driving as it gave them more smiles and more useable handling than the C2 due to it being more predictable with enhanced grip/handling

I recommend it esp for folks debating between c2 and c4

Hard to understand why they didn't compare comparable cars. The difference could have been due to PTV and PASM as much as RWD vs AWD.

Based on testing back to back with C4S in a Cab and my C2S coupe with Sport PASM, it all felt better to me with RWD. But I'd have to drive otherwise similarly equipped cars to really know if the difference was at all interesting. Clearly the performance is about equal- unless the road is wet and then the AWD has to have the performance advantage, if not the feel- cause RWD in the wet is always very involving when pushed!
