My latest modding on 991! loving it

Hi

I just gave a new year present for myself. I have ordered and installed the following parts.

- IPD 991
- K&N air filter (OEM fit)
- Akrapovic slip on Titanium exhaust for 991 (best of the bunch)

The result is just amazing! it really helps to transform the car characteristic. The power delivery is very fast and very smooth especially at the low-mid ends torque, and its continuous through all revs.

My car is already equipped with PSE so when we installed the Akrapovic, I can still use an exhaust bottom in the console to turn off/on the exhaust values. The quality of Akrapovic is nothing short of spectacular and it is the best looking exhaust i ever see. The installation is a breeze, thank to the wonderful guide from Akrapovic.

The sound from Akrapovic exhaust with closed valve is already better than PSE with open valve. However, when you open the valve then it is a monster, cracking, burbling like a real racing car.

Of course, please see the pics

Good move going with the Akrapovic titanium. I had them installed on my former ZO6 and the weight savings alone justified the price. Enjoy!

I have the Akra as well, love it. With the valves open is sounds awesome, little much for every day.

Wrap those vacuum lines really well if you track the car because I burned through mine. My shop wrapped them extensively and re routed them a bit so they out of the way.

I melted them after 2 days at Watkins Glen.

Had the exact same experience with another aftermarket exhaust on the 991 (FVD). I am getting the new AWE switchpath exhaust installed next week. They assured me they took care of the issue on theirs. I'll post about it when we've made progress on the install.

Congratulations! Isn't that about 1/2 the price of the power kit? :-) What are the gains and are they credible? Looking forward to some sound clips and assuming no drone?

Care to elaborate on the issue? I'm having a CargraphicTS x-pipe installed soon that also works with the factory PSE system.

OP, congrats on the mods. Sounds like a great bundle.

^^^This. I would like to know as well. Wondering how much of a power increase you are getting with everything.

Car and parts both look great!
