My grandpa has a tennis ball in his garage to park his Buick. Lol! The laser is way cooler.

As far as aesthetics, the laser is invisible when not activated, and then it's just a dot on the dash, or wherever you aim it. The unit is mounted on the ceiling. It can also be used for two cars with a dual laser version so it's very flexible and pinpoint accurate.

I have the laser that works with your garage door opener and it works great. Tennis ball works fine too, but then you have it hanging in the way when the car is out of the garage.

Yeah it works pretty well I must agree and I've used them before, but it's kinda hillbilly looking.. And for a sports car it is so long.. and then I'm constantly walking into it when I've got the cars out of the garage.

The laser things and all are too high tech for what is needed. So I kinda got so I like the little floor bumper things. I think I'll do the smaller ones next time which are just little rubber bars..

I use a tennis ball and string hanging from the ceiling.

Cheap and easy.

Lots of great ideas in here! A little flag that's used on kids bicycles works great as well, very bendy and won't scratch the car. Although not the prettiest solution perhaps..

As mentioned in an earlier post I use the laser parking option now but I thought I might as well throw out something that I used for many years prior to that...and it was FREE!

I cut a 4" length of PVC pipe in half lengthwise. Then I took some scrap rubber hose and sliced it lengthwise also. I slipped the hose over the cut edges of the PVC so that it would grip the floor and not slide. I then painted the whole thing grey...just because.

The cool thing about the PVC with the rubber edging is that when your car tire rolls up on the PVC it actually presses it downward into the garage floor and it will not slide even on the slickest painted floor. Works really well.

You can see it in this picture:

I use those overly priced flat-spot eliminator pads that are advertised in Panorama. Makes sense for me because mine will sit for weeks on end without being driven.

Mine is even cheaper than all the rest and I've used it for the last 20 years or so in 3 different garages. I put a black line on the wall and line it up with my outside mirror. When rear edge of the mirror lines up with the line, I'm in my perfect spot.
