2014 C7 Corvette Gets the Chris Harris Stamp of Approval
Chris Harris has made a name for himself making some of the most entertaining car reviews inhabitants of this planet have ever seen. Besides being very good at going sideways, Harris is also a fantastic car critic. How do you determine a good car critic? When a new car comes out and you ask yourself, [...]

I would pay a $20k premium for the Porsche but not $50K+. If the 991S was priced at $85K nicely optioned, I don't think there would be a question about which one to buy. But a 991S nicely optioned at $110K+? No thanks.

The problem is Porsche always sends an over optioned car for comparisons. The 911 will always be more expensive, and rightly so. But there doesn't have to be be $60k worth of options. Black Sport Techno wheels? Would've faired as well with the base Carrera S wheels. Point is 991S is the better car, C7 the better value.

Yes indeed... He does that all the time.
It seems that the people that make the 6Speed frontpage, have different forum rules than us mortals.... Apparently they are not expected to use the forum's search option, in order to prevent double posts/reposts.
One would expect that these people would have an examplary role.

What was in the car that was $60k? It looked like there was:
PCCB
Yellow belts
Black techno wheels
Full leather
Stitching?
PCM and interior package painted exterior color PDCC?
PSE? Yeah it had that...
SPASM
PDK
Sport design wheel
PCCB was the most expensive but I don't see all of this ringing up sixty. What else? Stupid stuff like leather steering column?

This being said, the 'journalists' should and know better: when you compare cars, you do not quote the stupid price of test vehicles that Porsche or GM had available that day at that place. You either go MSRP of compare with similar options.
Just for the fun, I checked on the configurator what the most expensive Porsche would be with the options listed on the website (aside from the 918 and from the fact that you can personalize even further dealing directly with Porsche): The Panamera Turbo comes first at about $275k, followed by the 911 TurboS at $233k. OK, this is a completely pointless exercise but it shows that it leaves room for Porsche to do better (more expensive) with future test vehicles
And back to Suzy's comment, yes his thread is pretty much useless (yet we are posting...). The OP posts stuff in the news/blog section and then feel obliged to start similar threads in which he very rarely participate like it was only to create traffic to the blog itself.
We've all seen a better use of the forum...
