Based on current weather (and pothole damage), those dates in March seem a bit optimistic.

True, NYS will have no funds to fix after spending tons of money on salt. April sounds like a better month. I just want people to see that the end of winter is near.

Having just blown a second tire in two days in JerZ on these ridiculously dangerously potholed streets (both in my BMW with run flats - wife did not get wheel and tire package ) I would give the road crews as much time as possible to get the roads fixed up before I risk my baby!

In my half century of driving NJ roads, I have never seen them in such bad condition, and NY roads are about the same. The years of ineffective patching of the roads really caught up with us this winter.

And it is everywhere! Mine happened on Rt. 22 which is just a disaster - it is not good on its best days - but local roads of every size and description. My 991 is staying the driveway until further notice!

Sorry to hear about the tires, Michael, but the roadways are really treacherous this season (we're now competing with Manhattan as far as pot holes go).

They repaved Seven-lakes Drive last year and it really turned out great. I really hope that all this snow and salt didn't harm it too badly.

Thanks Pete
I just repaved my driveway which is why I will even take the 911 out of the garage! Hope to see you soon - I will definitely make it up to Bear Mt. at some point this summer.

+1. NY roads (from Manhattan streets to major highways to local roads where I live in the South Shore of L.I.) are in the worst conditions I have seen them in my 23 years of driving. The potholes are just ridiculous, and the road crews seem to be in no real hurry to even do their patented patch repair jobs.

This was a great run last year. I'm definitely up to go again, but later in April will be better given how seriously bad the roads are. 2 years in to ownership of his 650i, my father has had 9 tires replaced. Not sure tire insurance is going to remain affordable.
