Is anyone able to check out the condition of the roads in and around Bear Mountain?

Chuck, I was 50/50 planning on doing an early morning run to Harriman State Park this weekend and might make it over to Bear Mountain. Will report back if I make it.

Seven lakes is perfect all the way up to Bear Mountain. I've been up there three times already. It's definitely a go.

A club I belong to (The Rockland Rodders) is having their annual Dust Off cruise on the 27th.

In case anyone wants to join us.

The Annual Spring Dust-Off Cruise is scheduled for Sunday April 27!!
We will be meeting at the Pacesetter Mall, Rte. 202, Pomona, NY at 9:45 AM. We will be leaving promptly at 10:15 AM. Bob Dagistino has planned a route for the cruise and will distribute directions going up 7 Lakes Drive and returning via the Palisades Parkway South to Exit 10 Middletown Road New City, NY. We will end at the City Line Diner 254 South Main Street New City NY for brunch.
Directions to Pacesetter Mall - Palisades Interstate Parkway North to Exit 13 (US 202, Haverstraw/Suffern) Merge onto Thiells - MT. IVY Road, left on US 202 East to Pacesetter Mall on the left.

I can't make the 27th, and given the conflict with carrerapete's run, I propose doing the spring get together/cruise on the prior Good Friday weekend which is April 19-20 or the weekend of 3-4 of May . Either Saturday or Sunday is good with me. Any takers?

I think the GF/Easter weekend will eliminate a bunch of people who have family stuff. I know I can't make it, but if that's the decision No biggie.

Michael,
I will have to check with she who must be obeyed, but I am game for either. I think that the weather is likely better the first week in May.

I took an early morning drive up to the area today.

The conditions depend on the road:
- My favorite road, Rt. 106 across Harriman is perfect, but it was repaved last year.
- 9W from Stony Point to Cornwall is a bit rough. The Storm King Highway seemed okay, but I always enjoy that stretch of road and may be letting it off easy.
- Rt.6 from Fort Montgomery to the start of the Palisades Parkway is a patchwork mess of filled potholes. Horrid.

Palisades Parkway itself is fine. I fell in with a couple of 997 turbos traveling south on this, but they either didn't seem to know or care about the level of policing on PP and I had to back off. Shame as we made a nice convoy.

I also took a ride up today. The entire route for me is perfect: Route 17 to Seven Lakes Drive to Bear Mountain. The scenery is awesome all the way up.

I look forward to our meet.
