First wave 2012 991S coupe -12K miles and loving it.

 

Had a bunch, drove them all, some more miles than others, and owned a few cars in between the 1st and the rest. Never had one I didn't like even though I really loved some of them. Will continue to drive them till I can't or until they give me a reason not to, which hopefully won't happen.

2012 Cayenne V6 - 31K miles -- trading it in for an ordered Macan Turbo

After over 40+ years of Porsche ownership, the 991 is by far the best!!!

1988 911 Targa - 15k miles over 3 years- sold for $18k in 1994
1990 964 cab - 14k miles - sold for 28k in 1999
1995 993 cab- 20k miles over 3yrs - sold for 35k in 2002
1997 993 S coupe- 10k miles over 3 years - sold for $42k in 2006 (BIG MISTAKE)
2007 997 coupe - wrecked and traded in after 4k miles and 6 months
2009 997 couple- 19k miles 3 years.. should have kept this one too, traded 4/12
2012 991 coupe- 12k miles / 2 years... for sale!

 

I've been driving Porsches for over 40 yrs.
I used to collect them in the old days when they were affordable.
Now just 1 or 2 at a time.
The 997s in the last few years.

tromero - just curious, why the 991 for sale? Would you rather have kept the 997?

 

What I love in this thread is that we see that a lot of Porsche aficionados who have run plenty of air cooled and previous 911 models are very complimentary about the 991.
When the car was released, there were so many complaints about the car becoming a dull GT, having lost the true 911 spirit, etc.
2 years after the launch, the fact that so many true 911 enthusiasts like the 991 tells us something about what Porsche has really accomplished and initial resistance to change.
