baby gets new shoes

Had PZeros: 245/35-20 and 295/30-20, drove about 25,000 miles with some autocross and no track time. Tread remaining was about 3/32 inch.

Just had Pilot Super Sports installed, 245/35-20 and 305/30-20 (my rims are 11 inches wide)...

Inflation is standard not fully loaded.

Although I am breaking them and not thrashing them, I noticed that they are more responsive, quieter and more comfortable than the PZeros - less jarring ride for sure.

They were cheaper than the Pirelli tires and have a 300 tread rating (as opposed to 220)

A shout out to Tire Rack: knowledgable, responsive and friendly. Not a bad thing to say about them. I strongly recommend.

Very nice! Good to know they are less expensive and ride better! Keep us posted after you get some more miles on them!

I would not say they are quieter or ride smoother.
Better grip for sure though.

I think you will find you like them better at the comfort, partial load setting.
They grip better with low pressure.
Keeps them on the sticky outside part of the bi-compound tread.

I'm actually 1lb under comfort/partial.
That is as low as I can go w/o getting a TPMS warning.
They warm up to 35/38 which is perfect.

Good stuff. I may give Super Sports a shot after my Pirellis, though I'm not unhappy with the P-Zeros at all.

Another +1 for TireRack. They're amazing and shipping is insanely quick.

Where did you have them mounted?
Did the dealership object to your getting them through tirerack?

I just put on a set of PSSs this week and drove 5 hrs (heavy traffic) last night from NY to Washington DC. The tires are just amazing. They felt more sure footed than the Pirellis I will say, and seem a bit less 'jarring' as commented above (but that may be due to pressures). I am running 44psi rear and 36psi front.
The ride on the highway was super smooth and tight, even on some more 'aggressive' manoeuvres.
The next 'test' will be on the track…
Most of all, I love the look with the different sidewalls - I'm running 15mm spacers in the back and 5mm in the front…they look great!!

Do you have 20" Carrera S wheels, RNL? Would you please take some pictures and provide them.

Thanks

I did the same a few weeks ago and after 500 miles they are great. I prefer them over the P zeros myself. The rounded shoulder of the tire threw me for a loop.

Nope. 295s. With the spacers they already protrude ever the slightest...

Very nice, will do the same as soon as I need new shoes which may not be long if I keep doing auto crosses/DEs.

4s comes with 305s, is there an option to go wider?
