OP should get some red 911 decals to put on the car as well and I would even paint the mirrors red.

The most recent one on Jay Leno? That was a GT3. But he should put the 911 decal that is optional on all 911's but in red.

Ahhhhhh the peanut gallery!! I already have two other sets of HREs coming...but the only problem is, they might not provide you with the basis to say I am copying another car. It kind of has me worried. Should I cancel the SLS AMG doors I ordered? How about the R8 front bumper that I have on special order? Please, guide me!!! I am lost without your mentorships!!!

I love red wheels, and did them on my F10 M5. When people ask me if my car is a Turbo I say no. When people ask me if my car is a GT3, I say no. When people tell me to paint my mirrors or put decals on, I say no.
Actually, come to think of it, that M5 looked a lot like the GT3RS too. Holy Geepers Batman!!

Don't take any suggestions of copying another car seriously.
We all enjoy seeing a customized car and support what you are going after.
Am I understanding your post correctly that you bought 3 sets of HRE wheels?
(Red ones plus 2 others?)
For the $25K that costs, why didn't you order a GT3 or Turbo instead?
Just asking

Those M3 pics almost make me want to put red wheels on my car

I have been a longstanding customer of HRE and have purchased quite a few, so the damage is not as bad as if it was full retail. Also, I like to buy multiple sets of wheels, so to the extent that the money could have been used for a Turbo, I would have bought multiple sets for that car too. I also fell in love with this 911 on a random day of car "window shopping" and so I snatched it up on the spot. The available turbos didn't do it for me enough to want to pay the $$$ premium for the increased HP/TQ and resort to selling my kidneys to mod it. Also, I am not into having a street race car, so the GT3 doesnt appeal to me. And staying stock for me has never been a real option.
One of the things about Porsche more than most any other sports car, is that it can pull off looks that few others can -- or at least not the cars I had (E46 M3, C63 AMG, CLS63 AMG, E55 AMG, F10 M5 and E92 M3) -- without resorting to major body work. Red wheels on an M5 was cool, but on a Porsche with the Agate grey, it just feels like a perfect fit. Was not a Porsche follower before this, so the GT3RS specifically did not pop into my head. Now, if the wheels were Baby Blue or Orange...then that would be different. Plus, these wheels are Brushed and not Gloss -- the latter having a much more motorsport look.
I dont post modifications on forums and then cry because someone may not like what I did to the car, etc and voices their displeasure. I just wasnt fond of the insinuation that I was "copying" another style since the car has plenty of red accents already to demonstrate that the red wheels were not just some way for me to try and transform my car into a faux GT3.

I applaud you for going away from the standard silver or black set up (Im the only one allowed to do such a thing Matt). I think the car will be quite formidable with the contrast and the aerokit.

Always good to have the big brother throw you a bone once in a while. Now, if they had a Turbo S in Guard Red or that Crazy Yellow available, I would have sold all of my Lehman and Enron stock to buy it. Have you been posting pics of the Turbo anywhere? I forget to check the Turbo forums, but feel free to thread jack here with pics of that glorious monster.
