Trunk opening with the water hose

So as I was washing my '13 C2s Cab, I noticed that the trunk would open when the water steam was flowing over it - even when the car was locked. Anyone ever see this?

It's been discussed in prior threads wherein I mused that if one were to urinate on the car while holding the fob in other hand it would probably open the trunk too.

My recommendation, put fob in car, close door, wash car.

Make sure your engine cover didn't pop open at the same time.
It's happened to a few of us..

You have keyless entry/drive. Keep the key in the house when washing the car.

Same thing happened to me during my first car wash at home; totally caught me off guard. Leave the key inside!

The same thing happened to me yesterday, so I placed my key in the house and the trunk stopped opening

It's amazing what happens when you read the owner's manual. There's a motion sensor so that you can open the trunk if you have the keyless drive thingie option.

And yes, it happened to me too.

I believe the car knows when the key is in front, if anywhere but there, it's fine.

+1 for lock the car and leave the key in the house. I've had the frunk open. I've also had the doors unlock as I was washing under the handles. Took me until my third wash before I figured out what to do. The reasons I like the key in the house rather than in the car are:

1) You can lock the car and get all up under the door handles with impunity.
2) It prevents those predatory car thieves from whacking me over the head in broad daylight in deepest suburbia and absconding with my C4S! ;-)
