brake squeal

How much brake squeal do you guys get when pulling up at lights?

Just wondering. Because the all the 911's i test drove for the short time had no squeal but my relative's boxster S squeals almost every other stop at a light.

No Brake Squeel on my 991s.
There is a new anti-squeel pad, for the 991base and BoxterS/CaymanS.

Where is this anti squeal pad? Does it decrease braking performance?

kobett is infamous around these parts
Mine squeaks at almost every single stop sign/light, even at light braking on the highway. It's pretty embarrassing in parking lots too. Always had this problem since I got the car new up to now at 5,000 miles. I tried bedding in my brakes multiple times but it hasn't helped.

Dealer said this is normal and wanted me to come in so they can teach me how to drive/brake properly lol.

Yea the problem is on my fathers boxster S he just got but my uncle has a 4s and he doesn't have this problem. And now once the dealer agrees to my terms for my lease I will have a C2 coming and the brake squeal is annoying.

He took the car twice and they just keep resurfacing his rotors, bedding them, and treating them and it works for say 20 miles.

drspeed posted the link in this thread:

I saw other posts, where the dealer changed to this pad to resolve customer complaints.

I don't know if anyone knows if it stops any worse/better.
I saw the 991 Base, previously had a 997 prefix pad listed [99735193811].
This new pad is a 991 series prefix part number (someone posted it in another thread).
Clearly it is a different compound.
I wonder if it is chamfered or not.

Did people used to have have squealing problems on the 997 also?

This is an official porsche pad? Weird. The car is at the dealer now. I'll call them and look into this.

I only have the part number for the original pad:
99735193811

I don't know the part number for the new pad, but I think it was posted before.

Mine never did for the first 10000 miles. Now it does it frequently. Is this a warranty item?

No problem with my base 991 at 9K miles. My 2 previous 996's and a Boxster all squealed.
