Is it unreasonable to expect a full tank of gas on delivery?

The car just got delivered this morning and the gas tank is only 1/2 full?

I have been buying new cars for a while and I am surprised - perhaps I am wrong to expect a full tank of gas?

Nope, when I picked up mine at the dealer I asked, "full tank of gas?"
and the answer was yes. Any car for that matter, should have a full tank of gas. IMHO

When I took delivery of my car it had a 1/4 tank. My sales person saw it when we were going over the cars controls a few minutes before I was going to drive off. He said he was embarrassed about it being low on fuel and grabbed the fuel card and promptly topped it off for me. I am guessing it was just an oversight on their part. I think its standard for dealers to deliver with a full tank. Every car I have purchased came with a full tank. In fact a few years ago I purchased a BMW 335i and upon delivery it was just over half full. Salesman said their fuel card had been misplaced/stolen that morning and apologized that he couldn't top the car off for me. He said bring it back anytime on empty and he would fill it for free. Nice gesture.

I feel like it should be common courtesy to have it full on delivery, just like how it should be washed up ready to go.

My car is coming from the east coast and on one of the forms I signed, labeled "what was owed to me and what Porsche guaranteed" (or something to that extent) a full tank of gas was one of their promises. I think it is a very small courtesy but an important one for dealers to provide, especially given the price of the cars we are buying. So, no you are not be unreasonable at all (IMHO).

Cars are always shipped with minimum fuel just for fire/safety reasons. But any dealer should fill it up. Mine was...

But that being said, If I bought a car off the lot and it wasn't at 10 miles, then yeah I'd expect that it might have a bit less than a full tank just from being test driven.. But for a delivered build, they should fill the damn thing...

Porsche have a long way to go with consistent customer service from their dealers.
They really could learn a few basic things from Lexus.

The delivery process for any vehicle should follow a standard checklist and procedure.

Should definitely have come with a full tank of gas (unless the car was driven from the dealer in Mass. to your home or office, but it doesn't sound like that was the case).

No but I wish I drove it back (infact I wanted to) - they put in on a trailor and I had to go to a nearby rest stop on I-95 to pick it up
