My first Porsche! Exhaust advice?

And it's a Carrera S. It was supposed to be a GT3 but my order is now pushed to fall. I've owned it 2 days and so far enjoy the car very much! Porsche make a great car. My only complaint is it's way too quiet. I expect a bit of grumble from the exhaust and the stock exhaust just doesn't have it. Is there a way to plug the bypass valves or is there an exhaust you recommend to wake the car up? I'm using it as a daily driver so I don't want over the top.

Thanks!

Obligatory picture (ignore the dirty garage). Sorry no other pictures yet as I've only owned the car 2 days and it's raining.

Does it have the PSE option? If, not that is the route I would go (just go to any dealership and listen to it on one of their cars to see if you like it). I always thought that was more than enough. Definitely personal preference of course.

Just had the Porsche Exhaust installed on my 997.2 4S and sounds pretty awesome, especially around 4K rpm.

Jump to about 25 secs in the YouTube clip:

love the PSE sound but the tips needs to be a little more aggressive!

If you have an exhaust button on your center console, then you have Porsche Sport Exhaust. If you don't have the button, then you have the regular version. If I were you, I would consider either Sharkwerks Muffler Bypass mod for about $900 or AWE's SwitchPath for about $2,500. AWE have an PSE ready or non-PSE version. The Sharkwerks work with both.

Nice 991, and beautiful F430, by the way. Congrats and welcome!

I do not have PSE. I was just reading about the AWE exhaust and have a question out to them. I'll check out Sharkwerks, thanks!

Thanks! I've been a long time Porsche lurker but am finally in one . I've been quite surprised at how much traction this car has. The Scud is an interesting comparison to say the least!

Mine did not have the PSE factory installed. I had my dealer install it as well as the AWE exhaust, the S is already has the wiring installed. Total out the door was $3600!

If you go that route, hit me up and I'll send you the parts list.

Gorgeous car!

does195 is correct, though, your dealership should have the ability to retrofit your car with the PSE components, including the switch; they'll just need to recode the car with the factory scan tool to activate the system. Cost for the PSE retrofit should be somewhere in the neighborhood of $400 if your dealer is willing to perform the work.

And if this is done, you'll be able to manually control an AWE Tuning SwitchPath™ Exhaust, like this (video courtesy of SM_ATL):

I had the PSE added to my '13 981 S. A must have option in my opinion. Thankfully the 997 will have it (though the 991 system is better).

3600 for the PSE and the AWE or just the PSE?
