So I had a CEL come on just as I hit 7500 miles on this oil life so decided to get her in. 16,500 miles...had the intermediate service done and in addition they uploaded quite a bit of new software for the dash display and PDK. Feels like a new car. A few subtle changes to the display and the PDK seems to shift faster while in normal mode. Interesting.


Paid $352...for intermed. service, not bad. This car is going to last a long, long time.


The CEL was apparently a slightly stuck check valve somewhere near the tank for venting vapors. Said it was 'gummy'...maybe due to some bad fuel. Anyway, seems fixed. Good as new. I was encouraged to drive the car harder. Ha.

 

Awesome. What changes have you noticed in the dash display? I'm going in for service next week and was wondering if software updates are done automatically, or if I have to stay on top of it and remind my SA.

 

Here's what I noticed:
1. Time now displayed under pic of 911 in dash display when you put the key in.
2. PASM and Sport Plus read slightly different: 'sport chassis selected' for example.
3. Noticed cooling fans ran once when I never heard them before in that situation.
4. PDK is quicker when in normal mode. Will try Sport Plus tomorrow. I was Cadillacing around today.


Software updates should come up automatically in the system.

I would wager they do. Since mine is a lowly Launch vehicle I get the occasional update.
