Thanks..the one P101 color I have that's going on the HRE Open House I know will garner flames on this forum, especially because the real thing in person can never be done justice by a picture. Thus, I wont be posting them....

I'd be interested to hear how you manage all of your buying and selling. Do you simply allocate a certain amount off cash toward the buying and selling of wheels/tires? I'm also guessing you get a pretty nice discount for buying and posting photos on the forums on a regular basis. Do you keep them a while and then sell? I only ask because I want to be on your list of buyers for when you get bored and need a change.

I also don't get the discount people think...and it's a good thing, in my opinion. I live 30 miles away from HRE, I have been buying wheels from them since 2008 and have a great relationship with the people there (and some no longer there). I am not obligated to post on the forums or social media, I just like doing it because it's my way of saying thanks. The amount of wheels I buy alone is enough to warrant the treatment I get, the "shout outs" and "posts" is just because I love the wheels and since I have been inspired by so many amazing forum cars from Mercedes to BMW to Porsche (Vic, for example, has been an awful influence/inspirer...same with Ben from Wheels Boutique who has some amazing cars and customer cars), I would be thrilled if I could do that for others. I love seeing sick cars, and so if I went with a wheel design or finish that gave someone else a great idea, hey, I am all for it.
The reason I dont push for huge discounts or even want them is that the benefit I gain is that, when feasible, my wheels get done unbelievably quickly (sometimes in a week), I get finishes that they dont offer to the general public and other things/perks here and there. This isnt me bragging, but rather emphasizing that HRE is obviously a business and is a business with the ultimate goal of making money and being profitable. Therefore, it would make awful business sense to basically just give away wheels to me -- especially the quantity I buy. I've always learned that when you build a good relationship with someone (this case, a business), you dont really need to ask for the hookup, you just get it -- and sometimes its not always in monetary form.
My wheels are with the company I buy them from, Wheel Enhancement, and they store them for me. Again, another nice perk. Wheel Enhancement is unbelievable at customer service and communication, and my orders are always on point with rarely, if ever any issues...so again, I am willing to give up some amazing "one time" discount for repeatedly excellent personalized service. They are in Culver City -- LA -- and since I am originally from LA and have family up there, it's an easy motivation to go up there.
Sorry for the rant, but I just wanted to clarify some misconceptions I think exist out there in the ether.

Yeah these are definitely a different, more aggressive-sinister looking wheel in my opinion. It's funny because I had the brushed red ones on until Saturday, and then got these on Sunday. And the opinions were almost 50/50 from my friends who had now seen both sets. I would get "Ooooh dude, I love these black ones much more. I liked the reds, but man these are awesome" and then from someone else "I love the red more, makes the car stand out." But regardless, I love these both and am looking forward to some of the others I have in the rotation. Thanks for the feedback!
