We use H&R on almost every street car we build. Never had any issues at all. Ride quality is great, and the look is perfect.

Here's some pictures of our old 991 C2S car, with H&R springs installed.

the general consensus for springs is usually h&r or eibach. even companies like techart, ruf, gmg etc. don't make their own springs, its usually outsourced and made by one of the above and rebadged. I know on a 996 gt3 I had for a while it came factory oem with h&r coilovers, not sure if they still used them on the 997 > models. spacers are generally for cosmetic purposes.

For the average person and during normal use spacers are purely a cosmetic addition.

Tom- probably a dumb question, but do you know the lowering distance on a C4S with stock PASM, when adding H&R springs? I do not have SPASM, so the delta between PASM and SPASM is 10mm. Will adding springs lower my car more than the stock PASM 10mm? Will the final result be similar to if i had SPASM (20mm) over car without either?

I am considering adding springs, but if they don't lower more than where I am today would be waste of money....

thanks!

You can see the lowering specs here:

http://www.hrsprings.com/application...s/31/1533/2013

In my experience, it would still give you about another 10mm from where your car is now.

On cars with SPASM, it still goes a little bit lower as well, plus there are some tricks to get SPASM cars even lower if you want to.

Ok, thanks Tom! Looks like the H&R spring set specs are for a 1.0 inch drop in F and R, so if I get my conversion right 1in = 25.4mm, so effectively the springs will lower my car about 5.4mm MORE than the same C4S with SPASM. That's what I was looking for. I just wanted to make sure that the drop wasn't more than that....

Thanks!

Does anyone have the suspension settings with springs and spacers? No track for now, just every day semi-aggressive driving.

Not sure what you are asking? Opinions, experience, or technical? The H&R drop details are provided above, but your experience may differ based on what spring set you choose. The wheel spacers you choose will determine how the wheel sits relative to stock in the fender lip.

I just bought 7mm F / 15mm R Adaptec spacers, and will purchase the H&R spring set shortly. In my case I have the wide-body C4S, so the rear spacers should work very nicely. The springs, as I mentioned previously, should give me a total "drop" of about an inch all-around, which is ~5.4mm lower than a car with SPASM. I won't get to this project until probably sometime in July as i am a DIY junkie -- will post pics then.

Once you you change the geometry there are typically recommended settings. I assume lowering and adding spacers would require some particular settings.

Ok, got ya. Well, from experience, checking alignment is a good idea, but honestly I've never set-up my cars in any extreme configuration and never had to do much more than that. Never had any issues with tire wear or other.

Maybe others have more of an opinion on this.....

Tire Rack has both Eibach and H&R springs

You can also go on eBay and get them in the low $300 range shipped.
