How many miles are you planning on?
There are a lot of posts here that indicate there are some very low mileage 991s. I realize they have only been out since 2012.5 so that has some bearing on this.
So the question is for those that have purchased their cars - do you budget annual mileage intentionally or have a total mileage in your head based on how long you will keep your car? Or do you just consider how many years you are planning on keeping your car?
Lot of factors go into this thinking just wondering how you approach this.

Hi Naples, I have a 2012 CS2 that is just hitting 10k miles. It sees a heavy dose of track work, so I have to budget for brakes (about to put on the 5th set of pads and on the second set of rotors) and tires (2/3 of the way through the 3rd set) and lots of gas (I used 3 tanks at a recent event, plus another tank too and from).
I bought the car, love it and plan on keeping it for 10-15 years probably. That might change depending on what comes out, but it is a great car. As such, I take good care of it, and make sure it gets all the scheduled maintenance.
To answer your question, I don't budget mileage annually or based on how I plan to keep it. I just drive it and enjoy. Especially the track days.

for me, i just don't have time to drive the car...
it's my 3rd car and not about to use it for my 140 miles round trip commute.
during the weekend kids and other priorities comes in to the picture as well...
they do enjoy a ride once in a while tho....

I dd my car, put about 1000 miles a month on it.... I don't lease, just own...
I can't imagine why anyone would barely drive such a work of art like a 991.... I hear bs about not wanting to depreciate it ,,, blah blah blah... if the depreciation was such an issue then you shouldn't have bought such an expensive car...
I don't want a 6 year old low mileage 991.. I want to take care of it, but drive the crap out of it and enjoy it... Not make it pristine for the next guy who buys it.. so I can get an extra 10K out of it.. I'm not into collecting crap I never use.. I want to play with my toys...

Same reason my parents bought a couch and then put plastic cover on it and we were never allowed to sit on it...
We had the most lovely 20 year old couch that we gave to goodwill..

I drive it daily, rain and shine - take good care of it, don't care about mileage and no compromises on maintenance and service. Planning to keep it for long long time. Have 9K miles in 15 months.
Own it outright.

I put about 1,200 miles a month on my car, and I don't even have a commute (I work from home and do virtually do business travel). I live 5 minutes from some spectacular canyon-carving drives. My favorite is a circuit that takes me exactly one hour to do. Often times I do that circuit for my lunch break.
My point of view is that the more miles I drive, the lower the cost of the car to me on a per-mile basis. If you buy new for $130K, drive 1,000 miles over the course of 2 years, and then sell for $110K, you've spent $20/mile to drive the car. If you spend $130K, drive 20,000 miles over the course of 2 years, and sell for $90K, you've spent $2/mile to drive the car (excluding gas costs, tires, maintenance, etc). Plus you got to enjoy the car for 20,000 miles! So I don't give a second thought to trying to control my mileage. The more miles, the better.

Same here, except I have 11,000 miles in 10 months.
