GT2 - Sad but Awesome at the same time!
I know, this isn't 991 or whatever... but this forum is where I "live". I thought maybe some other geeks like me would appreciate this....
I was at my dealer to pick up some parts today, and while I was there this absolutely beautiful GT2 came in, minus a bunch of parts.
I asked my service guy what the deal was, and he told me that the car was just coming back from body shop where it was repaired, then brought to the dealer shop for the final assembly / "detail work". He then told me that the owner wrecks it in some way once a year, has it repaired!
I have to say, even with the front and rear parts missing, this car was stunning. 5 people walked up and everyone said the same thing.
GT Silver and black with lots of yellow bit accents inside. I should have taken more pics, but got caught-up talking to some of the guys standing around and they pushed it off to the garage.

In this case, the dealer is also a shop that fields a few race cars, and have been doing so for many years. I've found their shop technicians to be top-notch. Used to be Holberts (here in PA, Bucks County) but the dealership was bought out several years ago by Thompson family. The Holberts family was deep into racing, and Al Holbert was the head of the Porsche North America's Motorsports Division for a period in the 80's. Quite the racing history across some amazing cars. What used to be called Holberts Racing team / shop is still very active - don't know what they are called today.
