Installed a SprintBooster in my C4S

Wohooo!!! what a diference!!
if you are questioning to buy one, don't hesitate. do it!
This is the best mode I've done to any car so far.

Ok there will be guys that will flame me and say this is a gimmick (it certainly is) and those who will say you can get the same experience from just flooring the gas pedal, BUT in my opinion that's not the case, I don't have to mash the pedal to get that -mashed- feeling, and there's absolutely no delay between pushing the pedal and the car response, something I could never get rid even on Sport Plus.

I set my SB in red mode and took the cable off, this is the best setting for this car.
When driving in standard mode the car response is immediate but not aggressive, this is the way the 991 should come standard, I always felt it was a dog on Standard mode.
On Sport mode the pedal feels like driving in Sport Plus but sharper, without the annoying redline gear holding which I find it to be overkill around town, feels fantastic on this mode.
Sport Plus and manual should be called rocket mode, you have to ease into the throttle otherwise the traction control kicks in, but once you get the feather pedal feel, you'll love it! maybe a lot of fun for the streets but a bit aggressive for the track on this mode, but you can always disable it in one second.

Anyway I highly recommend this mod, my car now feels right! It's a load of fun for such a small price and is easily self installed or removed.

Galion - can you pls post step by step how you installed it and where you ordered it from? Also any warranty void related issues plus it shows 997...do they have one for 991 or it doesn't matter...??? I wonder how come many haven't done it..must be some downside!!???

Personally, it solves a problem I don't have. I don't mind the relaxed throttle mapping in normal mode for driving around and like the much higher strung feeling in Sport Plus. However, I'm really glad you like it so much and imagine there will be other who do as well.

Fester, Bought it from GMP Performance for $275, I think they are sponsors in this forum, it shows 997 but it will fit the 991 as well.
I went to my dealer today to pick up my car with the Sprintbooster at hand, asked my advisor about any warranty issues and he said a straight NO, in all honesty he didnt have a clue what the SB was, I had to explain how this works and he said that as long as I dont touch the ECM we were Ok. He even offered to help with the installation.

Same steps for the 991. Took me 10 minutes at the most.
The only difference is that my SB is the newer version, it has a cable to select your desired mode, then you can take the cable off as it keeps your last setting.
Red is the best setting, it goes from sharp in std mode to ultra agressive in Sport Plus.

The Sprintbooster is a very popular mod among car enthusiasts in BMW, MB, Porsche Forums. I havent read one single bad review from someone who installed it, bad reviews come from people whom dont actually have one.

Dont be afraid, for the money this is a great mod, and as I said before, its easely installed and removed. You will not notice that its there until you press the throtle

It actually works great in the red setting with Sport Mode activated.

There is a similar system out there called Pedal Box. Wonder if anyone here has used that and how it compares with Sprint Booster. Pedal Box is made in Germany and is supposed to be more customize-able.

Yep, I considered that too, it does the same thing but with 06 programming modes.
I got the SprintBooster after reading a few comparison reviews.
With the Pedal Box you have to deal with a big controller and long wires that you need to run under the dash, the SB is just plug & play and the controller is very small with just an illuminated button, You can also disconnect the controller after selecting your desired mode, only two beside Off, Green= mild improvement and Red=big improvement.
In this case simpler is better, I think...

Just a word of caution. I too recently purchased and installed one. I absolutely loved it! It woke up my Tip. However, after 2 weeks of flawless operation, I went to take off from a red light, hit the throttle..and nothing...nada...zilch! Then came the check engine light! I shut the ignition completely off and had to remove key. Restarted and all was well. I just figured "fluke". The very next day 2 more times! Then I get a code, P1266,with my Durametric telling me DME is faulty! I removed the unit and have had no problems. I'm sure it's just a faulty unit and I have not had time to return or even call about it. The only thing that goes through my mind is this happening at a very bad moment... like in the middle of traffic on I4!! So I decided to not have anything aftermarket between my accelerator and DME. I'm not for or against, I'm just cautioning you what I just went through.

Final update

Ok guys, final update.
I had enough time today to drive the 991 and went for a few runs, drove some twisty roads, the highway and arround town.

First of all I stand on my words that this thing is freaking awesome, it definetely works eliminating the throttle lag, the red light mode is the most fun, really, really awesome! The car kicks off the line and you get the power sooner, but it feels like you are getting full throttle at 30% pressure of the pedal, very cool for a couple of days but it starts to get annoying since you loose the progressive character of this this car which I also love.
Note that the kick down feature ALWAYS gets in.

The green light mode is more balanced, you get full throttle at arround 50%, but the pedal response is no better than Sport or Sport + with the device turned off. Same response except at the very first second, works great on standard mode though, but again going WOT at 50% of the pedal travel gets old very fast.

So, would I buy it again for another PDK 991? The answer is no.
If I had an modern American muscle car I would get one hands down, I think the 991 is too refined and too -perfect- for this aftermarket device.
But still a bargain if you want to experience a different "feel" whenever you like.

Thanks for the update Galion. I have been on the fence for a long time on this and had the feeling that it might "get old". You have confirmed that.

All these devices do is give you an abrupt throttle. Its fly-by-wire in the car and the pedal is digital. Think of it as going from off to full throttle in the factory car like this:

1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10.

Even and Progressive. When you install these position sensor devices its more like this:

1-3-6-9-10.

Great for drag racing, lousy for track driving when sometimes you want just a tad more gas in a corner to set the car, you're at 3 and want the 4, not a skip to 6. In the land of digital throttles you can do all sorts of things with them. I'm into KTM motorcycles as well as cars and many of the KTM race bikes are too abrupt, so there are mapping programs and even different throttle barrels on the cable bikes to 'slow' the throttle response as it gives you more control over the bike. For example - come up to a downed tree in the trail and you want a short goose of the throttle to get over it, not the full engine blast of power or you'll wind up on yer 'ead. Modulation is Control. Remember that!

The Torx screw is right there at the base of the pedal. Then pull up all the pedal assembly to disengage the tabs.
