Aggressive exhaust options for 3.4

Curious which exhaust options currently offered are considered more on the aggressive side. Sharkworks, awe and fabspeed all have center muffler replacement options and based on a review of their youtube videos, the sharkworks option seems the most aggressive. What other options am I not aware of. Awe claims a 29 hp increase which is shocking. This closes the gap on the S....

Many posts discussing this have been started. One even a couple ones down the list!

A simple search will yield much information, especially on exaggerated claims.

I have the Sharkwerks pipe. I would agree it really changes the base sound. Lots more rumble and grumble down low, pops and gurgles on overrun. And little to no drone. It is more agressive without being louder.

I do kinda miss the more refined sound of the base with center muffler tho. Might put it back on. The overrun and pops can get to be a bit much for me on longer drives.

I will say the one thing holding me back from switching back is the crosspipe really opens up the midrange torque. You can feel the difference between 3-4k, not so much at the top end.

I'll 2nd the Sharkwerks exhaust. I've had it for a month and love the pops it makes. There is a little drone in 7th on the hwy but I just keep it in 6th and it goes away. For $800 bucks it's a steal.

I installed the AWE Tuning System on my 2014 991 C2 Saturday. Drove about 200 miles since install, which was comprised of 85% highway. This system has met or exceeded my expectations. To be fair, I would like to drive it for at least a week before I review. But for now, it's thumbs up. Frank C.

I have found no threads which focus specifically on the 3.4 or the more aggressive options currently on the market.

All of the brands you mentioned are pretty aggressive. The Sharkwerks and Fabspeed bypass system was primarily designed for a PSE alternative to get the pops and gurgles.

I just sold my 991 and took off my Sharkwerks bypass if you are interested. PM me if you have any other questions. Always happy to help.

Are the pops and gurgles something that is completely dependent on the exhaust or is it something from the ECU that comes more alive with the PSE? Is it programmed in, or something that just naturally occurs?

My dealer said the ECU is programmed to inject a bit of fuel when you go off the throttle to create the pops ... More pronounced with an open exhaust of course, but at the root it's supposed to be the ecu

Fabspeed Headers w/low restriction cats and X-pipe into stock saddle bag mufflers. More power, less weight, better sound, no louder at cruising and idle.

I have a Speedtech on my 3.4 and the sound is awesome!!! It is comparable to my old 996TT. The sound a WOT next to a jersey barrier gives me chills lol.

I would highly recommend it.

This is our more agressive system for the 991 that CLk430 has - it consists of our signature Speedtech X-Pipe design with in-line mufflers. Light weight and sporty...

or we also offer our center muffler delete X-Pipe, which also sounds fantastic...this is a direct bolt on to the existing OEM mufflers

Thanks for the support guys and indeed we've been really happy with the center replacement. A nice aggro sound without any resonance etc...
