Rear Decklid Emblems
Hi....I am having a hard time having to detail the lettering on the back of the car all the time. My car is black and it always looks crappy around the lettering. I am thinking of removing all the emblems and polishing it up. Anyone one else experiencing the same frustration? Any detail tips? Anyone remove the emblems? Thoughts and suggestions greatly appreciated.

Removing them permanently?
How about using a Dremel with a soft cotton attachment at low RPM's to detail around the letters? That should do the trick.

A microfiber sprayed with Merguiar's Quick Detailing spray should do the trick. Wipe the outlines of all badges. I've never had issues keeping the paint around them clean.
The only cars I see with this problem are ones that go through automatic washes.
You have to be detailed and gentle to not catch the letters and pull them up. It will take like 30 minutes to do it right. After that, if you keep up on it it should stay clean.
DO NOT use any sort of electric tool.

I use some quick detail spray and a microfiber towel. I form a little tip of microfiber to get into the small openings. Mine's always looked clean around the lettering. Yeah, it's a pain, but not impossible. Then again, I have some obsessive traits that make me detail everything on the car.

Went with GT Silver on my 991. Sleeping a bit easier now. Ha ha. Still needs a lot of care obviously, but a bit more forgiving.

I personally would not remove the emblems. I like the silver script against the dark grey metallic paint of my car.

I always take the plastic writing off my cars. When my C4S gets here I'll debadge it before I get it Opti-Coated, then if I decide to put P O R S C H E back on it I'll get the black letters from Suncoast. I'll be Carmine Red with duck tail. Wonder how it would look with a Porsche shield, similar to the one in front, on the back? Somebody must have done that before.
