anyone having heating problems?
Hello all,
Last weekend I was out, it was chilly outside so on my way back 2am I crank the heater, to my surprise the thing is blowing cold air lol
after a few miles I stopped at a gas station, turned the car off and on, I crank the heater again and now the thing works..
I had the car at the dealer for some warranty issues on my seats this week, so I ask the S.A to check the heating, he is like ok.. takes notes ..
after 4 days because they didn't have parts for my other issue, dealer returns my car so I called the S.A. about the heating and he tells me everything is working fine.. btw no paperwork.. ( I think they didn't even bother to check the heater)
today I go out for a drive and the heating is not working again blowing freaking cold air I put 85+ and a/c off and 10 miles of driving and nothing
so I had to go inside some store for about an hour, after that same thing, on my way back..cabin temperature like summer days nice cold air..
tonight I'll have to jump in the Cayenne..
anyways I was reading the thread about the solenoid being defective ... anyone already changed a faulty one? planning on buying the part and just doing it my self, maybe that can take care of the problem
I think I'll do it my self, since I'm not getting a lot of help from dealer

Had similar a problem. Valve was replaced two weeks ago by dealer. Heater was blowing cold air when I arrived there for other service, clearly not working. New wiring harness was needed with the new valve. Was on back-order. Drove a loaner for several days until it arrived.
So far so good with the new valve.

I dropped my 2013 C4S off at dealer with same heater issue, told them I read it was a solenoid problem. A week later (yes it took them a week) they call me to tell me not fixed yet but they think it might be the solenoid. Pick it up in another 3 days (1.5 weeks total). Three hours later, blowing cold air. I don't think Porsche has very high requirements for their technicians. As a side note, at one point they told me they had to take my car out of the service bay to work on someone else's car? I did not purchase from this dealer, I guess when a car purchased at dealer comes in they yank whatever is being worked on if it was not purchased at dealer. I was shocked SA told me this, but like I said, not the brightest over there...

I had the same issue, change over valve was the fault, dealer knew what it probably was before booking it in, confirmed by mid day, replaced back and working next day. My dealer is very good, this shouldn't take long to resolve, but I would highly recommend my dealer in the UK.

Do you know what the problem was?

Just completed my Porsche service survey regarding my last COV replacement which affected my heater. My car was fixed in less than a day from my showing up at the dealer without an appointment, so no complaints with the service whatsoever.
I lambasted Porsche in the section about how I feel about the car and their failure to recall known defective parts. Let's see if I even get a callback from them. Anyone want to bet? I give it 50-1 odds that there is no callback response.
