New 2014 C2 Cab Price
Seeking some guidance on purchase or lease of a new 2014 C2 Cab. Dealer has had the car for 15+ months. Mfg date of 7/13. It's a bit different in that it's white with red top and gray interior. Optioned with nav, sport exhaust, 20" Sport Design Wheels, Xenons, 7 speed manny. MSRP = $102,610. On AutoTrader @ $95,410. I'm thinking that it's almost 2 model years old and a minimum 15% is reasonable.....perhaps upwards to 18--20%.
What % discount should I expect to obtain for this early MY 2014? And on a 24 or 30 month lease what is the residual?
Any advice is welcome.

That car is coming up on 2 years old, and believe me, they want to get it off the lot. Manual trans Cabs tend to sit a lot longer than PDK units and the white/red is probably not helping either. I have a 2014 Manual Trans Cab S that sat on my dealer's lot for 11 months, MSRP was $ 114K, I paid $ 105K and got 3 years maintenance and CPO warranty added to it at no charge (Worth around $ 6K). So in effect, $ 99K or a 14 % to 15 % discount and it was still in the current model year (I've had it 13 months now). Have they "punched" the warranty on the car yet and started it running? That lets them clear it off the books with Porsche as a new car for allocation purposes, etc.
Another pal of mine bought a 2013 leftover C2 Cab with manual (White/Blue top) that had been sitting. MSRP was $ 112K and several states away. He offered $ 82K on it and they eventually took it, but it took a few months because they were trying to get him to come up on the price and he would not budge. Finally they said 'Come and get it" so he did a fly n; drive. I don't have the patience for 50 to 60 days of negotiation, but he did.
On the car you are looking at, I'd offer somewhere in the mid- $ 80K's depending on how long you want to play the game,

he who controls the $ controls the negotiations,, offer them what ur willing to pay and if they don't want it then keep looking,,,cars arelike busses, they show up every 20 minutes....don't settle for what u don't really want, it will come back to haunt u. good luck

Good luck with the transaction. You should definitely be getting a bigger discount. I think that (assuming you can strike a deal), buying would be the way to go. You'd get killed on a lease because at this point the residual on a 2014 C2 cab is probably so low, you'd be giving almost all of your discount back with the deflated residual.

I agree with the above comments, except that DRC is a master negotiator and few can equal his herculean abilities. Mid-80s is a great target, but few can hit it.
It will help though, if you do said negotiations in person, not over the phone or via email, making it clear that if they meet your price, you will do the deal that day, check in hand, etc.
As for the lease, it probably won't be a good deal, but you never know and it never hurts to ask. Wait though, until you've already negotiated the price on the car before investigating that option.

Also the car was CPOd, although new. It had a little over 5 years left on warrantee when I got it. As DRC said, they punched the car, starting the warrantee a year before it was sold.
Love it, FWIW.

I was also lucky enough to find a leftover at a great price - $107K list for $87K although my was a 2012 that I bought in 1/13. These are unusual are require patience and luck. I was actually looking for a used one when I found out about the one I bought. The car you're looking at has very options and an unusual color combination so I have to believe it was ordered for a customer who backed out. I also have to believe that they will come way down eventually but keep in mind that when you look to sell the car you may have trouble as well.

Thanks to all for your guidance. The car is, in fact, one that was ordered for a customer who backed out well over a year ago. I took it for a spin last fall but decided to wait for winter to pass before getting serious. I've purchased 3 Porsches and 3 Benz from this dealer over the past 10 years so we know each other well. I'm going in Monday morning and offer $82k. I'm completely willing to walk away and play the waiting game. I just happen to like the color combo and that it has a manual tranny. I agree that it may be hard to sell this car in a few years and if I know it......the dealer certainly knows it. Will let y'all know how this turns out.
