GTS vs Carrera S with PASM
Hello
I have a 2012 with this configuration: http://kaveli.s3.amazonaws.com/20150327073809480.pdf
I am curious how a GTS would compare to this car.
I realize a GTS has 40 more HP, a wider body, and different leather.
But if my car had the power kit would it basically be the same car?
Or does the GTS handle differently? I always assumed it was a bit more.. raw.

GTS is just an option package - you get a bunch of options for a presumably discounted price. I don't think it's any more "raw" or otherwise performance oriented than a comparably equipped car. Although as I understand it, you can't get a 2WD car with the 4WD body any other way, to me it's no big deal.

As I understand it, compared to the spec of your C2S, the only change in handling feel would be due to a RWD GTS having slightly wider rear wheels and tires than what comes wheels you have. How much of a difference I have no idea. If one of the cars had Sport PASM it would have a "sportier" but hardly more "raw" feeling. Lower it some more, al a GT3, and you get closer to "raw". But anyone with an earlier GT3 or an air cooled car will still think it is a limo!
The powerkit provides a definite difference in how fast the engine revs from about 5k to redline. There is essentially identical performance up to about 90 mph, then it begins to reap the 30 HP advantage. But to me it feels more silky smooth and not "raw" in any way.

GTS is definitely worth considering if you are ready to change 911s anyway. In fact, hard to understand why someone would get an S right now unless that was right at the top of budget. But building an S to GTS spec would cost 15k more, and you'd still not get wide-body (in RWD) or centerlocks.
But... if making a change was not in the plans otherwise, to me the extra bennies of the GTS don't warrant making a change just for that model.
