Can you tell me what to do when you first get a new car?
Hi,
I drove few cars in my life and this is going to be my first porsche. I started off with BMWs and had a 328i e92 coupe until now (i am still going to keep it)
Just got a 2015 jet black C2, to be honest, i am still young and couldn't afford C2S or C4S but i am heavily excited that i get to own this amazing machine. The reason I got 328i was because i really didnt care about the speed or the hp but in my BMW forum some people were always saying how 328i is for girls and 335i with turbo is for the guys and stuff..
is it similar with porsche owners too? just wanted to know heads up because there are so many more expensive trim lines in 911 family and I am just buying the base one.
anyways, back to my new car
i am not sure what I should do now, do i need cQuartz coating, Paint Protection film, tinted windows? what did you guys to first?
and also what about having to drive below 3000rpm for the first 5000km?
and changing oil after 1000km?
I really didn't care about these things before but after spending $136k on a car, I'd like to know! by the way I am in Toronto, Canada
I was actually going to get R8 but after test driving a porsche, I didn't even think twice.. yay!

2) If you plan on keeping the car, clear bra will really help keep the rock chips down and keep the car nicer. This should be done soon as to keep the paint looking nice. My 991 has clear bra on the entire front including fenders, door handles, Roof, and complete back bumper. Also gets Nano wax every six months. Paint is holding up really well.
3) As for the breaking period, I adhered to it as much as possible. Try if you can but lets face, its fun to test it a little.
Hope this helps.

In the order:
1. Read Manual.
2. Read Manual. Read the Manual....
3. Clear Bra.
4. Wax the car.
5. Treat the leather (leather conditioner).
6. Learn how to drive the car (I know, might be too corny, but this is a rear engine car and there is a difference if you are an aggressive driver).
7. Tint (Primarily for UV protection for the car and you).
IMO, the rest could be done in any order as they are optional IMO. The rest includes springs, coilovers, audio upgrade, etc.
Congrats.

Congratulations and good for you. You are now officially hooked, you will be hooked on the. Bond forever.
I would do a clear bra (I prefer Suntek over Xpel on black cars, both excellent).
Always wash the car yourself and start reading about the proper ways to do so. Jet black will look fantastic especially if the paint is treated well. Last thing u want is. Bunch of swirls on your $136k machine!!'
