Hi Guys

Any opinion on the PDK gear selector in aluminum for a GTS? Does it look better or more robust? Trying to decide on that and whether to upgrade to LED more for actual more light production ? I don't care about the cosmetics much.

Thanks.

I think that the gear selector in aluminum looks great on any 911. It's really an underappreciated option. If I was a PDK guy, it would be a must for me.

If illumination is your main interest, do not bother with the LEDs. They do provide better lighting than the xenons, but it is barely perceptible. The next lighting tech - laser - will be to xenon what xenon was to halogen.

Yes. You can get the standard, or carbon fiber or Alcantara but the aluminum is more robust looking. Maybe half way to the shifter of the GT3.

Hmmm. Are you sure? When I went to the configurator and tried to check carbon fiber or aluminum gear shifter, it said that I had to delete PDK, so those options are only available on the manual shifter.

Gear shift lever is for MT. Gear shift selector is for PDK. It's the same for all the other gear shift options.

Thanks.

Been shopping around for GTSs myself, and I'd say that the LEDs aren't noticeably stronger than regular xenons. Also, the "halo" look is not as pronounced as I would have thought.

I think I have decided against the LEDs but will go with full leather. I had it in a 997 and I am not sure I will be happy w a synthetic dash long term.

Other than that 18 way premium plus and Bose. GT silver with full leather black interior without the GTS interior package. No power steering plus- I like the old school feel of stiff steering. Probably will go with OZ center lock 20 inch winters on tire rack.

Any other suggestions would be welcome.

I ordered that gear shifter on my TT. I think it looks better than the standard PDK shifter.

Full leather rocks. Go for it. If you color selections allow it, I'd suggest a dual-tone color combo, which I believe is no extra cost once you've gone full leather.

Good move skipping the LEDs - I think NHTSA regs prohibit them being any brighter in the USA than Xenons.

One reason I considered LEDs was the "halo" ring effect. I saw non-LED PDLS and LED in black side by side at night a few days ago, and wasn't impressed. The halos really don't stand out as much as the photoshopped Porsche stock photos.
