"I use a leaf blower and whatever water is left afterwards I use the microfiber drying towel from griots garage ... See link below. Seems to work well."

Ditto this....have been doing it this way a long time no issues. The only thing I add is griots speed shine as I'm drying in spots.

DJSArcade is infamous around these parts
I use Zaino Borderfree Towels.

They are the best - super soft, will not scratch, and the whole car can be done with 3-4 of them.

Waffle weave for me... and I try to place the towel on the surface to avoid wiping along the surface. I have two waffle weave towels that are good for drying a whole car.

Yes, blotting with a waffle-weave is the way to go; the less you wipe the better.

Been using a MetroVac Master Blaster for a couple years. Love it. I like the fact that the MB warms and filters the air.

Toro Leaf blower and microfiber here also.

The microfiber tends to leave specks after some time (age) so I tend to buy in bulk and use them as oil rags.

^^^this and then microfiber on anything left over. Get my towels from detailer's domain https://www.detailersdomain.com/coll...fiber-towels-1

I have a pile of the big ones and takes two to do the car if I do not blow it off. I hav e a bunch of the small ones for little stuff and the interior to dust off. Leave one in the glove box of every car. Detailer's has a sale or more correctly a coupon code for 15% off every holiday pretty much. Bought my master blaster and vac I have at 20% off with a I think new years special which doesn't happen on any other site I have found.

This.

However, I don't have the patience for all the blotting and crap, so I use a California water blade on the flat surfaces, windshield, etc. and follow-up with wiping with a waffle. I don't like using a blower because it blows dirt on the car.

Dirt/dust is the enemy. Get any kind of foreign substance on a towel or chamois and it's going to scratch. Heck, I've had dirt on my water blade and left huge nasty scratches on a car before. It sucks. That's why we have polishes.
