Oil change interval

Oil change interval
I live in South Africa
Porsche ZA in the past recommended oil changes every 7500km/1yr.
Now they send a mail suggesting extension to 15000km.
All new and most CPO Porsche's come with a maintenance plan.
Now is this a ploy to save them costs or promote sludging and premature engine failure after the warranty expires or can this be trusted?

Comments please.
Should I just pay separately for more frequent oil changes?

Here in the USA, Porsche recommends oil changes of 10,000 mile (16,093 km) or 1 year. With today's synthetic oils, I do not see any issues. I think it also depends on driving habits - if lots of highway miles 15,000 km between oil changes if fine. If a lot of stop and go driving or driving on dusty roads, you would want to change it earlier.
