Phonebook solution
If any of you are like me, you've been porting phones from one system to the next for years and end up with thousands of contacts, many of them worthless at best and gibberish at worst. I really only need to call a dozen or so numbers from the car, in any event. My BMW's and Cadillac had allowed me to enter only favorites and create a small phonebook for those few important numbers. Not so easy on my new 2013 911.
My solution:
I create entries in Outlook with last names that begin with a character, a number, then the nickname. For example @1Home or @2Wifey. These listings move to the top of the phonebook in the PCM in the order of the number in the second position. Now I've got my top dozen favorites. Note: after you are satisfied with your favorites, turn off the automatic load phonebook option and you'll have your favorites available immediately after your phone hooks up to the Bluetooth.
