Good lease deals on 2016 911?
I've been out of my 911 (owned) for a year now and want to get back into one ! (see my other thread about comparing my sold 911 to a super hot ex girlfriend haha )
Anyway, I'm going to take the lease route this time. I figure it's more cost effective to lease since I buy a new car every 1-2 years anyway
(I welcome feedback on that point - if it's better to lease since I buy a new car every couple of years anyway.)
So to the main question: before I go calling all the dealers in California I thought I would check on here if anyone knows of any good 911 lease specials offered by a dealership? (Other than the Porsche national one for 7k down 1k per month)

Porsche leases are never a "good deal" insofar as the base money factors are high and the residuals are mediocre. Every once in a while something good pops up but it is usually for a very short term at a very low annual mileage. A year or so ago, they had something going where you could lease a Boxster for a really short term and low miles for little down and something like $500 a month. They offered it to me when I ordered my Macan as a "bridge" car until the Macan was ready. I've never seen anything similar offered for a 911.
The only way to get a "good" deal on a 911 lease given the terrible Porsche Financial programs is to get the cap cost (selling price) of the car down as low as possible. I waited until the very end of 2015, had my dealer do a search of available cars and they located one not too far away that would work. They sold it to me at dead invoice, which was something like $11K off sticker. That goes a long way toward making the lease a little more palatable. Not BMW palatable but acceptable. You can't be picky with colors and options with this strategy.

If you're only keeping a car 1-2 years in CA leasing is probably your best bet. Having to pay CA sales tax every 1-2 years on a 100K+ purchase is really going to add up. At least with a lease you only pay sales tax on your monthly payment.

Thanks guys. Yeah I realized that in the past 2 years I've wasted almost 20k in taxes alone now I want to buy another Porsche which would probably ad another 10k to that (CA) So I figure even if there isn't a great deal out there, leasing is probably better than wasting money on taxes. Of course, the most cost effective is folks who buy a car and hold onto it for a long time. I've never been that type though.

Yeah - in CA we have to pay tax on the full purchase price of the new car, no matter what we trade in + city tax, means in CA you're looking at roughly 8-10k in taxes each time you buy a new car (assuming it's a car between 50-100k)
Which is why I think leasing is probably better for me haha
