2015 GT3 or McLaren 570S

So I picked up my Onyx Black 570S yesterday. Car is a dream. It drives so well, sounds so good and is a rocket. It just pulls and pulls and the steering is so alive in your hands. It is a big purchase, but I am glad I made it.
Ultimately, having had 2 991s already (C2S and Turbo), I just thought it was time for something else. And I couldn't help but thinking that I was backing into the GT3 because I was trying to buy the less expensive car. If the two cost the same, I would have picked the 570S without much thinking. So I said, what the hell. Life is short.

Congrats Enzom. I did a write up on the 570 when I drove the first one that hit Dallas for about 30 minutes and loved it. I actually liked it more than the MPC12. I think you made the right choice. The GT3 is a great car but I can't imagine anyone driving the GT3 and the 570 back to back and not being emotionally pulled to the 570. It is just alot more exotic and even more driver focused than the Porsche. Once inside the car just wraps around you. I got back in my Turbo and it felt quite a bit larger.
It does not sound like an issue for you because of changing cars frequently but the biggest things holding me back from Mclaren, particularly on the 570 is first of all usability. The second being how do the cars mile up. The manager informed the highest mileage Mclaren they have seen is 40k so far. I went to the Mclaren meet up here in Highland Park about 2 weeks ago put on by Park Place and left even more concerned talking to owners. Several of which had more than one mclaren. Lastly depreciation. They had a 12 MPC which was 287k new for sale with 15k on the clock for 129k...That is steep even worse than the Turbo which has taken a beating lately. With the 570 expected to be their biggest seller and put them at 2500 units annually there should be quite a secondary market for these cars in short order. In the meantime please check in and tell us how about the car, your impressions and upload a few shots.
Enjoy the car in good health.

I just test drove the 570s today, and my DD is a 2015 TTS. If what you want is "never boring" the 570s is the one you want. I liked driving it. My concern ( and I am usually in the minority on this subject) is that the large amount of road and engine noise compared to a 911 would be too much for a daily driver.
Definitely a show off car. I was in one for a good 25 minute test drive and got photographed and honked at at least a dozen times.

Doc it has been a while. Did you meet with Jhanifor? I agree it did have alot more road noise but thought maybe thats just part of the package with a car like this. This probably differs with your experience on the R8 being so civilized. Speaking of which when does the new one come in for you? Having driven the 570 would you get this over a new R8? I would love to see the new R8 when you get the car at Cars and Coffee or another meet.

Hey tommy-
I would have ordered a 570s that day if I wasn't worried about the huge depreciation hit. The used 650's they have sitting there have literally fallen 100k in one year!! I will hold off on a 570 until there start to be some used ones popping up. My R8 won't be here til probably June. And who knows, I may not be willing to trade the TTS when the time comes, just need to see it and drive it first. Hard to beat the TTS for reliable DD.

Thanks! Radar detector/AL Priority laser diffusers going in tomorrow. Then I can start driving it regularly.
