First time buyer
Hello, I'm new to the forum. I currently have a 2011 M3 and am looking to buy a 991.2 911. This is essentially my summer car. I drive a lot for work. Some highways, some twisty rural roads and essentially this would be my daily driver to work. I have never tracked my m3 and would most likely never track the 911. I have a few questions:
1) base carrera versus carrera s. Do I really need (I know I want it but wanting something and needing something are two different things) the s? For what I would use it for would I really notice the difference?
2) if i go with the carrera s what options do you think is essential from a performance standpoint? Is PDCC or the Sport PASM really necessary for what I would use the car for? I want the performance exhaust and sport chrono (most likely will get the PDK). And is I go with the s the sports package seems reasonable.
3) the dealer is trying to convince me that a sunroof is essential from a resale value standpoint. I hate moon roofs/sun roofs. My m3 has one and I wish I had gotten the carbon fiber roof. I never open it and do I really need one in my 911?
This is most likely a once in a lifetime kind of car and want to do it right but don't want to waste money on options I would never even notice were there.
What do you think?
Thanks!! Rob

Need versus want.
When you bought it, did you need something from the M3 you couldn't get from a 335?
I'd suggest your choice between an S versus a non S involves, more or less, the same sort of self examination, You'll probably come to the same conclusion. Then again, maybe not.
You'll need to like it every time you look at it, so i'd suggest leaving off the sunroof.
