front bumper wire mesh grills

I am sure there are a lot of people who have opinions on those mesh protectors for radiators. Are they worth installing?

On my last 991 never had any issues. On the turbo I added them after losing my center radiator due to a rock puncture. I'm not sure it's such an issue on the Carerra or Carrera S. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to add them for the side radiator and bonus if you like the aesthetics.

I went with Rennline grilles. The other brand I do not believe requires a bumper removal which may be an easier route.

rennline does require removing bumper so try Zunsport if you are the lazy type

+1 on the ZunSports. These can be easily removed and re-installed for occasional leaf, etc. removal that gets trapped behind the screens. T

I like the way they look, aesthetically, but with the amount of bugs and debris I pull out on a regular basis I would be removing the grills way too often. I'm sure they offer some protection from rocks but (knock on aluminum) I haven't had any issues on any Porsche I've owned in 15 years on the street or track.

ZunSport doesn't offer anything for the standard Carrera/S yet.

I caught a rock. The down time and repair bill wasn't fun. Wish I had the grills.

I've already removed two birds from my front grille in just over 3 years. One was a sparrow and the other a small blue bird. Has anybody else caught small mammals in their grills or am I an outlier? If I could easily remove the grills and clean behind them, I'd get them.

How would someone clean behind Rennline grills once they are installed? Just hose with water?

Guys who had Rennline grills installed, did they require any trimming/cutting/adjustments? Thanks!

They went on without trimming or any real adjustments. You do have to move the bumper and screw the mesh in.
