X-pipe, two years later
Hello group
Do you guys check under the car to see the situation of your X-pipe or aftermarket resonators? I did and was a rusty surprise, see the pics.
The vendor says it's related to proximity to the ocean although I live in the Midwest... so much for stainless in that steel...

I'm glad you saw the remaining of the stainless itens being just fine. I'm afraid if I try to replace the fasteners they will crumble taking part of the pipe with them. Conversely, I cannot leave as it is as eventually it will break apart.
Fabspeed says that the fasteners are not covered by the warranty and this happened because of the ocean air (!) and ended the conversation.

You are correct, they claim ocean air because I lived in TX, never by the shore, but I moved about 2 months after the install. The car is a convertible and barely see the wintry roads...

Wouldn't the rest of the steel parts on your car be rusty as well if that was the case? It seems the exhaust is only affected.
I always like to find cars in Cali, Texas, and Florida because they have no rust.

Shame on Fabspeed. That cheap stamped X-pipe joint is a good indication of their quality. I'm actually ashamed i have a Fabspeed intake, though my car came with it and no stock replacement. Do what's right and replace it.

15. What is Fabspeed Motorsport's warranty policy?
Fabspeed Motorsport offers a Limited Lifetime Warranty on all products to the original purchaser. This Limited Lifetime Warranty is offered to the original purchaser and covers defects in materials and construction. If the system(s) should ever have a problem, the original purchaser may send the system(s) back to Fabspeed Motorsport for inspection and possible repair/replacement, along with all included hardware and accessories. Fabspeed will inspect and repair or replace the faulty item at their discretion.

Question also, replace with the same thing and expect a different outcome?

Nope, I'd go with a different vendor. If you are getting the BS answers from them now, and they are not responding to your emails, seems they have something to hide. There is a saying about doing the same thing and expecting a different result.

The outside of the chrome exhaust tips I bought from them lost their shine and they said they probably wouldn't be covered by their warranty but said I could send them back anyway and they would look at them and see if they would do anything. I have never seen a warranty statement which says that it is a lifetime warranty but they will only honor the warranty at their discretion.

I'd rather have money back and buy elsewhere but they don't even reply to emails...

Anyone with a well seasoned AWE pipe want to snap a picture to compare? That looks like a cheap eBay exhaust that a teenager would put on a 15 year-old Civic. Do you have the OEM stuff that came off the car? I would rather run OEM than that junk.
P.S. Fabspeed, you are getting slaughtered in here, I would chime in and address this issue and quickly.
