66,000 Mile report
It's been about 4 1/2 years since I picked up my C2. We've traveled just over 66,000 miles since then as it is my daily driver. I take it out in all weather except when it snows...not because it won't go, but because snow seems to bring the 4 wheel drive morons out who don't understand that 4 wheel stop is not like 4 wheel drive.
Break in period: There were lots of comments about the break in period and not exceeding 4000 rpm. I have absolutely no idea if my adherence to this practice had any effect whatsoever (and I do not wish to reignite any discussion on this), but, the engine has not burned any oil between my 5000 mile oil change interval - I also do not wish to reignite the oil change debate. I use 5k, and I'm sticking to it whether it has any merit or not.
Brakes: the brakes squeaked on acceleration. As that is weird I repeatedly complained. Eventually they got the message and the passenger rear caliper was determined to be malformed which resulting in poor inner disc contact. I can't reveal the resolution other than to say I am completely satisfied by the Porsche response.
Engine: works like a fine watch. It seemed to become more powerful after 25k...remains a wonder of engineering. I am satisfied.
Body: No complaints. No squeaks, no rattles and the chassis keeps the tires on the road pointed in the right direction.
Electrical: No issues.
Radio and Nav.: I opted not to spend money on a high end system as I listen to NPR and local news. The nav system is pokie and annoying.
B Pillars: rattle, buzz...I finally fixed it by putting moleskin between the cover and the window...fixed.
Tires: 4 FLATS, TWO WHEELS RUINED...GET THE INSURANCE. Saved me a bundle and is in effect until June 2017.
Best Accessory: PSE...added after delivery. Worth every penny.
Best useful accessory: tie: headlights that follow the road and the back up radar. I can see where I want to go and I can avoid hitting stuff I can't see.
C2 v. C2s: for me, no difference. I don't track it and there is more than enough grunt to enjoy the ride.
Impressions: This is my first. It was an early 60th birthday present to me and the car was not what I expected. It was better. This car is an absolutely joy to drive. I smile each and every time I see it and every time I start it up.
Worth the cost: ABSOLUTELY.

Great stuff. Largely the same experience for me at 53k miles of daily driving in the Northeast (plus ~25 track days). I did have an AC compressor failure recently but that is all. The car has burned almost no oil since hitting 30k miles (less than a quart every 10k miles).

curiously, my parents had planned to use "robert" however, they told my aunt of their plans and she used that name for her child who was born 21 days before I.

Hi Richard, I think we communicated when you first got your car. I have 35k on my C2S with Sport PASM - a "launch" car that I purchased a week they were introduced in 2012.
My experience with the car is pretty much the same as yours- including having PSE added after delivery.
Beyond a series of "factory campaigns" I have had not one mechanical or electrical issue with the car. It is the 5th Porsche I'v owned since 1973 and by far the most trouble free, and enjoyable of the bunch.
Like you, I still find it an "experience" to drive and am continually blow away by its performance. I've come close to trading for a "bucket list" Turbo several times. Then I get back in, hit the Sport button, find a corner and have to call and disappoint a salesman. What a car!

Awesome report! It's great to see someone really enjoy his 911. Most people I have encountered still have less than 30k miles on their cars. I travel a bit for work and things so I averaged around 30k miles/year total.

LOVE IT. THANKS FOR THE LONG TERM REPORT. Agree wholeheartedly on the PSE and the smile every time i turn the key and every shift and every everything with this car. Completely worth every penny.

Of all the Porsches I've owned, the most miles I put on my Cayenne S back in the day. It had the occasional instrument cluster lighting issue but other than that, solid and a complete tank.
Every Porsche I've owned has been basically trouble-free, including the PTT.

Ironically on 911's I've owned, I put the most miles on a base 2008 Carrera with the 3.6 liter engine. I think I had about 34,000 miles when I traded it for an S. The sound of that one was quite a bit different than the 3.8 liter 997.2S I bought later. They've all been good, but the 991's are a cut above in my mind.
