993 owner buying 997.2S or 991S
I've driven a 1995 993 for 22 years and have deside to get a newer car, not getting rid of the 993. I've been considering the 2009/2012 997.2S or the 2013 991S. The price point difference I've seen between the two assuming less than 30k miles is about $6k or $7k. I'd appreciate some feedback or the pros and cons of each. thanks

I've had a 2012 991 C2 since new. I liked it much more than my 2008 C2S. Less road noise, faster, better mileage, better PDK operation, etc. I have had no maintenance issues.

PS: I also own a '95 993 but I don't drive it much as it only has 40K miles

Hope I'm still looking for more power at 64! I've owned 997.1S and 997.2S. Have not owned a 991, and that's the one I'd go for. Mainly because the electronics are more modern, and the car is overall upgraded and newer. If you're searching for a cars with PDK, then it's a no-brainer. The PDK in the 997.2 is very slow shifting compared to the 991. That alone is worth the 991 if you want PDK and plan to shift in manual any amount of time. Another downside of the 997.2S is that Porsche lowered the motor in the frame for better overall car balance (versus the 997.1S), but it actually sits low enough to scrape the exhaust and/or oil pan when traversing bumps. Meaning, you need to be more careful, especially if your car is factory or otherwise lowered.
