New Targa Option/Ordering HELP, please?
I’m in my 70’s. I’m not a fat slob, but I’m not a tennis player either. I’ve had many 911’s over the years, the last being a 2009 Carrera coupe with a stick shift, that I sold after a year, because I preferred my 2004 MB SL500. I’ve come to believe that a sports car MUST have a top down experience. Anyway, the current MB SL is VERY long in the tooth and the new car won’t be here until 2020, so I am thinking of ordering a new Targa. Questions: Forgetting about the price, is PCCB worth it just to pretty much eliminate the brake dust problem? Do the brakes still work great for just tooling around the neighborhood? Also, does PDCC really improve the ride quality? I love the looks of the 991 Targa, but I’m not a performance guy and love a smoother, more compliant ride. Along these same lines, should I go for the Targa 4 or the S? Honestly, I’m no zillionaire, but when thinking of ordering a new Targa money is no object, I would just like to have the most comfortable 911 possible. Any and all intelligent, constructive suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I am waiting on an ordered Targa GTS since I had optioned a Targa 4S to the point where the GTS made more sense. Get the 4S at least and unless you like the look of the Yellow PCCB calipers just stick with the regular brakes, which are more than enough. And get the wheels ceramic coated and you will be fine in regards to brake dust. Personally, I would pass on the PDCC and get the RAS, especially if you are not going to track it. And I agree that PSE is a must for a nice sound.
