New User Aboard!!

Coming over from the 996 forums..had a 2000 C4 Cab. Just purchased a 96 911TT!!. Polar Silver/Black....ROW ECU, ROW lowered, performance exhaust....for 485 HP...so says the Porsche dealer who did the upgrades. Will post pictures later. Looking forward to learning the 993 way of doing things. This is my first 993 so if anyone has any suggestions, fire away. I usually ran my 996 at whatever gear it took to keep 3000 rpm. What rpm do you guys usually use?

Welcome Bill. I see you're in NC. Please check out this thread about the Tail of the Dragon Meet. You should go just so that I'm not the only 993TT there.

If you haven't already, I recommend reading the 993 FAQ as well as the wonderful information on the Rennlist Forums.

I've only had my "baby" for 2 months, so I don't have much first hand to offer. When you take her out, make sure she's warmed up before heading north of 4k RPM. And from what I've heard, you don't want to go for short drives too often -- always try to hit full operating temp on each drive.

I see you went back to the "real Porsche" good choice. Pictures?

Sounds nice. 485 horse? There was no perfomance increase with the ROW ECU. The part numbers for US and ROW are the same in these cars. And the exhaust is generally only good for a few HP. Brace yourself, the dealer may have stretched the truth a little....

I generally keep the RPMs where I think the cops will have the least provocation for bothering me...

Post some pictures...

Yep maxiter, it's me.. There does not seem to be much action over here. I guess it is hard to have too many different borads with such a small number of potential listers. I can understand the 996TT guys having and supporting multiple boards. There are 4 to 5 times the number off 996TTs vs 993TTs....

Take care

I have more details on the HP question. It has a Fabspeed stage 1 ECU (50 hp) and a full Fabspeed exhaust (30 HP) (advertised) and the car was dynoed at 485. Service mangr at the Porsche dealership said it was the fastest thing he's ever test driven.
