Just a few things. And NOTHING was below 1500 for parts.
From what I am told, these cars need to be driven and not sitting around

No kidding. But to say someone is a pawn that is BS. They both have good and bad. I would like to have one of each. My 993TT was a pain in the *** and fun as hell. My 996's were a ton of fun too. Without the pain in the *** part.

Mine had 82k so it WAS driven..........................

Tim is absolutely right, no matter how you cut it, the car is still 10+yrs old and is going to need potentially major repairs($$$$) at some point. One friend of mine has spent in excess of 25k in the last 1 1/2 yrs. He has deep pockets, so it's no biggie, but just budget a fair amount for future repair work. Whatever the reason, 996 cars(TT) don't seem to be as fragile, and many can be found still under warranty, and that's a huge plus in my book. As much as I love the 993TT's, and still would love to have one as a weekend toy, that's the reality of it, imo.

the993s are true classics. thus if i owned one i would be scared to put many miles on it or for that matter even get it wet the 996 was highly produced and not a real classic... i don't worry so much about driveing it . but for a dd not a chance both cars are great fun to drive if you don't drive em to much good luck

Wow, that's a shame about having to put so much $$ into the repairs. I really like the look of the 993 vs the 996. Too bad it doesn't sound as reliable

tt vs tt

The 993 NA cars I have owned over the past 10 years have been bulletproof daily drivers, cost-effective to own, and have held their value incredibly well. I am so convinced that this is the case with the 993tt that I bought one 4 weeks ago and will use it as a daily driver. After budgeting $5000 to sort it out, I have spent $430 and have a flawless, serviced, 45k mile car that I could not be happier with!
Now as far as modifications...well, that remains to be seen. PSS9s and GT2 wheels/tires already installed by PO, GT3 thicker wheel is on the way, and power mods are on deck...

I saw a white 993TT for sale in our local Porsche Club of America (Arizona) Magazine. I will look it up and post it for you.
