Question please on 993 engine bay paint

Hi there, would very much appreciate input. Am considering buying a 993RS and am not sure if I am looking at a clean one... The engine bay paint, is this meant to be matt or flat finish / shows primer? I am looking at one that seems to have the shiny coating like the external body paint work. Your advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

Having never seen a legit, original 993 RS in person, I can say the paint on the flat area of the engine compartment is Glossy like the body paint, on normal 993's.

Both of my 993's have regular body paint in the engine bay.
If it's to shinny, it might just be a engine bay coating that the dealer put on to make it pop. I can't see why anyone would remove a engine to just paint the engine bay.

Hi, thanks for the replies

sorry, forgot my password so wasnt able to login for a while and not ableto thank you for the advices earlier.

Yes, I understand now that the paint can have the glossy look like the outter body having spoken to a professional buyer of Porsches. In fact, when I heard him speak, there are so many variations, made me think that being a first time buyer of a Porsche can be quite a headache... hopefully i have a good one on hand

thanks again for the advices posted!

another tidbit from the Porsche buyer

said that the sealants can also put on in different directions inside the bonnet and the engine bay, and probably depends on the line that it came off of when manufactured. rgds.
