Do I need a camber kit for my 993?

I just bought a 1997 Porsche C4S. I was thinking about lowering the car. Any recommendations about what suspension I should get? Which springs are good for the car? Should I change out my shocks? Do I need a camber kit? Any info would be helpful. Thanks

I have the full H&R cup coiler kit. Strut Brace and all. If you buy a complete setup it should include everything. If you want to lower it 30mm or so you shouldn't need anything but springs. Unless of course, you start playing with wheel and tire size combos. Are you still with the stock 18 x 8 and 18 x 10 with 285/30 etc???

well in the case of going 19" and lowering it you should just save up (or bite the bullet) and go with the whole setup. rubbing is an issue. It will be worth it. If you don't then by the second set of tires you could have already paid for the suspension if you get what I mean.

What's your budget? What do you use the car for? Do you want more show, or go? How many miles are on your C4S? What size & offset wheels did you get?

I don't plan on racing the car. I've already ordered little stuff like head light covers, sunroof seals, new stereo, valve cover gasket, clutch etc... I'm just going to be driving around town with this car like 1-2 times a week. The car has 49500 miles on it.

Chances are your stock shocks are shot already. For just cruising, you can NOT beat the factory Euro M033 kit. This is Euro springs & shocks, comfort spec, they are around $1200 for the kit. You can also get the Euro M030 kit, same as above, but the "sport" kit around $1500. I have this on my 95 C4. If you want to spend money, get the Bilstien PSS10's. These are adjustable for both height & shock valveing adjustment around $2400.

I think your best bet with 19in wheels is the M033 kit. Going to 19in wheels is going to make the car ride much harsher.

Here is how the car sits with Euro M030

Thanks for the tip. I ended up getting the H&R street performance coilovers. You were right. The shocks were dead. I was able to replace it my self and got the alignment at a mechanic shop. Now the car rights a lot better. I'm still debating whether I want to put 19's on my car.

Great choice. I kept with 18's on mine. The 19's are great looking but I think they might limit the adjustability factor to your setup. Plus ride is going to be super harsh.

Here it the picture with the H&R coilovers. The had a lot o problems with this car before. the horn was broken, the hood shocks were dead, Axles were busted, Shocks blown. Valve cover gasket leak, oil cap had no seal. Took me awhile to figure everything out, but it was all worth it at the end. I stll have to put seals on the sunroof, change out the rotors and brakes, replace the clutch and compound the car and it should be complete

Stealth 993: You mentioned the Euro (MO 33 kit) for $1200 or so....I was wondering- where, oh where, might I find this? I have 4 SHOT Monroe shocks in my (otherwise) perfect '97 C2 Coupe (49K). I would love to get the kit you mention....!

Thanks! Would you be able to email me some info, or post it?

Cheers--- TriTom

Sunset Porsche in Portland, but I think the price has gone up.
You might also want to contact FDMotorsports, that is where I got my M030 kit from.

Will the M033 lower the car to the same level as the M030?

Nope, with stock stocks it's about 10mm higher.
