front end shimmy/what is this part called?
Hello,
I have a 95 993 c2. under 100k miles. recently noticed some front end shimmy that has gotten worse. started only between 60-70mph. now, starts at about 50mph and has gradually gotten worse. got under there today and and used a pry bar to try to move some things around. did notice the front bushing on the drivers side a-arm has movement when i applied force although the rubber looks good. And the front tires are worn only on the inside, which I know can also be alignment issues. But the car never had vibartion issues before. Also, the rubber around the part I'm including a picture of has disintegrated. It attaches to the upright. So I'd like replace that while I'm in there. I just have no idea what it is called?
I would like to replace the bushings in the a-arm with polyurethane. Harder than stock but not track stiff. I do have a 20 ton press. Any recommendations?
Also, is there some where to download parts diagrams/factory service manual? I do have a pretty good and thick 993 book.
Just noticed the pictures didn"t seem to upload? I tried the paperclip icon and the mountain icon? The image is only 800kb so I know it is not too big. The part that I need the name for attaches aprox halfway up the upright/carrier. It is not the sway bar.
Thanks in advance.
